Guest guest
Hi Jen, welcome to the group! I have a similar problem too--a very hard time, even subconsciously, letting go of the idea that my weight is where its at, and feeling bad about the food choices I make because of that. I do really feel that with IE, for a portion of time at first, you just need to give yourself permission to eat ANYTHING so you can learn what you and your body really love and need and help get rid of the feeling that you " aren't allowed " to eat things for any reason. Good luck with your journey and I look forward to knowing you more! - Casey
Guest guest
Hello everyone! My name is Celeste. I am 26 and reside in Spokane, Washington. I have been an emotional eater for years. After a traumatic event, it became a way for me to protect myself--even though it has only started ruining my health. I have tried many diets to no avail. I want to do this naturally...the way it should be. I want to be able to listen to my body and respect it. I truly look forward to getting to know everyone. Guest guest
Welcome Celeste. I grew up on the West Side and went to WSU. Some days we post all day and others we are quieter. Best of luck on your journey.Dawn RTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Thu, April 21, 2011 10:56:41 PMSubject: New Member Intro Hello everyone! My name is Celeste. Guest guest
Welcome Celeste. Good to have you join us here. Do give a look at the Book list in the Files section and post away anything that comes to you related to IE in your life. Being younger should make it easier for you since you have less years of baggage - LOL!! But it also seems that you get quite a bit of 'peer pressure' (aka diet mentality) which is a huge front to fight too. You are right - IE is a 'natural' way to live - honored to be along for your IE journey too. BEST to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Hello everyone! > > My name is Celeste. Guest guest
Katcha, Thank you for this information! I will have to check it out. Subject: Re: New Member IntroTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Date: Sunday, April 24, 2011, 9:23 AM Celeste (and others), I use a great web site called Paperback Swap where books are FREE. The only cost involved is shipping, media mail, which is paid by the sending member to the requester. You must list books you are willing to send on before you can begin receiving. But I have to say its a great alternative to buying used! Of course there is always libraries where the only cost is getting there and returning the book.
