Guest guest
babs what a shame. poor guy. i dont associate food-poisoning with veg. i didnt know you had salmonella either. how horrible for you. i love tomatoes. recently ive been having them on toast for breakfast with salt and lots of black pepper. to grow in our climate we would need a greenhouse. i particularly love tomato mozarella and basil. i quite often have that for lunch, all chopped small with balsamic vinegar even though i'm not meant to have dairy. may > > Hi all...Chaz woke up at 5:00 a.m. with food poisoning. Guest guest
May, he's feeling somewhat better now. I've " doctored " him the best I can and it's a wait and see thing right now. The last time he got food poisoning at the age of 35 it created a whole set of wacky circumstances which ended up with him in the ICU with a heart attack. Bad days back then.... The issue our country is having with salmonella in our crops is that apparently the migrant workers are defecating in the field and the produce isn't being properly washed to deal with the feces. Soooo, I want more homegrown veggies, and would adore a big greenhouse to grow my own year 'round. Your " bruschetta " on the bread sounds yummy! I like to toast sliced french bread and then put on the bruschetta and drizzle olive oil over it...soooo good! I'm attempting to lower my dairy consumption also, but being a big cheese lover makes it more difficult than I had anticipated. Our Sunday desert is going nicely with my sister and her family reaping the leftovers. Chaz, h and I get one slice or piece of whatever I make and the rest goes down the road. So far my diet changes are working and I've lost another 1/2 pound. I have such a long way to go and I'm trying to stay optimistic and to also encourage Chaz and h....we're a BIG family! We joke that when we go out to eat at a buffet that everyone inside must be thinking " Run! Go get some food while there's any left to eat " !!! LOL!!!! How are you feeling today? Will you lower the Imuran on your own or did the doctor call you back? Big Hugs! Babs in Texas > > > > Hi all...Chaz woke up at 5:00 a.m. with food poisoning. Guest guest
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwww at defecating in the fields, aren't they given time to go to the loo in their working day? I'm glad he's starting to feel better. I'm a huge cheese feind too. I like the knowledge that a small matchbox size of cheese is actually beneficial for your diet And I do like adding cucumber and mint to a lowfat soft cheese to make a tasty spread. Love Ze xxx> > >> > > Hi all...Chaz woke up at 5:00 a.m. with food poisoning. Guest guest
I think the problem is that they supply Port-a-potties to the workers but the fields are so vast that there's too much acreage in-between potties, and they can't make it in time. I've seen huge fields being picked and not a port-a-potty in sight either.....so, I'm just staying away from tomatoes except for what I grow or what my family or friends grow. Chaz was able to work for a while today but is already back in bed. He had fever last night but it has abated. Poor dude. He should be fine in a few more days. Mmmmmm, cheese! I love swiss, provolone, sharp cheddar and also cream cheese on bagels...come to think of it, there aren't many cheeses that I don't like! LOL! Hugs!
