Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I think you may want to look at things from the perspective of "your body having a goal" and not you. Your body knows where it should be, and will eventually be at that point when you become a truly natural, intuitive eater. If you put a goal in your head, you're going to have a very hard time keeping yourself from restricting and dieting rather than eating naturally. IE isn't meant to be a weight-loss program; it's a way to heal from weight-loss programs, if you know what I mean. I dislike weight charts because they involve too many "shoulds" and don't look enough at the overall picture--nutrition, exercise, genetics, body type, etc. I think that too much focus on what people "should" weigh or be is setting them up for failure. Most people just aren't what they should be, or what they're told they should be, and that can be very discouraging. Sohni  Hi Jeanne, Thanks for letting me know!  That really does help in me setting goals for myself.  It's good to know it's from a good source.  US dietary goals.  That gives me a good range where I can be.  Right now my goal is 120-125.  Thanks! Guest guest
Hi, Debbie, one thing to consider is if this is a natural healthy weight for you, then your body will be able to maintain with normal eating and normal exercise. Guest guest
Hi Jeanne,Yes, that is a natural weight for me. (121-125) That was when I felt my best. Also, my body once there seems to longer release weight. So, as I continue to eat with IE I'm sure I'll get there again. I am not focused so much on the weight as I am eating how God designed my body to eat. How are you doing today?DebbieSubject: Re: Age and WeightTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Date: Sunday, June 6, 2010, 7:09 AM Hi, Debbie, one thing to consider is if this is a natural healthy weight for you, then your body will be able to maintain with normal eating and normal exercise. Guest guest
Good for you, Debbie! Losing weight is really not a priority for me either on this journey. It is far more important to work on developing a healthy relationship with food and my body. The rest will take care of itself. I'm doing very well today as I hope you are, Debbie! Thank you for asking! Have a good day! All the best, Jeanne
