Guest guest
Hi! I am from Norway and my daugther is 5 years old with autism. Her main problem is hyperactivity and that she can not concentrate. When she is focused, she learn from the ABA, but she can only focus a short time. We`ve tried a lot of things(supplements, LOD, B12++) and she is better, but we still have a long way to go. She speaks mostly when she want something and daily things like : Can you turn off the light? Can we go shopping etc. She dont play with other children. I have a DAN here in Norway. Do any of you have experience with hyperactivity and her problem that she cant stay focused???? All the best Liv (my english is not that good, sorry)
Guest guest
Hey Liv, Yes, actually there are some other things to try. We use " Naturally Calm " which is a magnesium supplement -- which did wonders for our little hyperactive child. In fact, it REALLY helps. We also do Feingold Elimination. It takes out Phenols/Salicyates and artifical colors/flavors etc. -- We saw a HUGE improvement within 4 days of taking out all of the foods (we had already taken out the other stuff) We also supplement with Calcium citrate when he eats a relatively hi oxalate meal -- this has been also really helpful for other things besides his hyperactivity. Those two things brought our son to noticeable changes in his focus. In fact, he really shows zero signs of hyperactivity anymore. (He used to 'eat and run' literally) and doesn't do that anymore...he just couldn't sit down... Hope this helps! laura > > > Hi! > > I am from Norway and my daugther is 5 years old with autism. Guest guest
Working the large muscles works wonders for my son! That means he takes loads the dryer or takes loads of laundry up the stairs. Tiny baskets when he was young.
Guest guest
YES! We make sure he gets about 2 hours of 'wear you out' play... We have done this since the beginning of our journey. We still do it. Now it's just biking, running (we put him in soccer), playing outside, skating (he's learning), swimming ...playgrounds, etc. laura > > Working the large muscles works wonders for my son! > > That means he takes loads the dryer or takes loads of laundry up the stairs.
