I have had a tough time wanting to eat a salad too. Just seems non-filling and

unenjoyable. I agree with you Abby if I put on lots of goat cheese, walnuts and

craisens then yum!

Subject: book study: Principle 5, Feel Your Fullness

Hello all!I'm just jumping back into book discussion, and for those who are reading the Intuitive Eating book or have done so please feel free to jump right in.Principle 5 is Feel Your Fullness!!!

What does fullness feel like to you?

Fullness feels good. Neither hungry nor feeling a the pressure of something in my stomach. Have you danced with your fullness level? Used a chart?

No, I am not charting or coming up with degrees of fullness. I don’t eat a wide variety of foods, so I pretty much know how much will stop the hunger and strive to pay attention to the different sensations that transition from being hungry to being satisfied.

What foods help you to feel more full and what makes you more hungry?

I feel satisfied and full on dense foods like meat, cheese, eggs, nuts. I rarely eat veggies alone, including salads as they rarely keep me satisfied for long.

What social cues affect the level of food you eat and your fullness ratio?

Restaurants can be difficult as I might now have a clue as to the portion size they will serve and the tendency I have to eat what is in front of me. I have found that asking for an extra plate really helps, as I can treat my meal plate as a serving plate and take what I want from it. It also slows me down in eating as a social situation usually has me more nervous and I will eat too fast and mindlessly.

Thanks in advance for participating!------------------------------------
