Guest guest
Jim, Portable Nebs has them. Here is the link http://www.portablenebs.com/concentratorT.htm That's the link to the Total O2 concentrator. It sounds crazy but click on the option to buy the system on that page and the next page will give you the option to just buy replacement tanks. Hope that helps! Guest guest
Bruce, They aren't cheap but with no insurance they give me the ability to fill my own tanks and not be dependent on delivery and having to pay $10.35 for each D tank I need. I just had some tanks delivered because I'm going to visit my son this weekend. $10.35 is what my local supplier charges and I can't imagine how I'd be able to afford that on an ongoing basis with no coverage right now! Guest guest
MB Oh, I understand and not saying they aren't worth every penny. I just never realized how specialized and expensive they were versus regular tanks. > > > > Jim, > > Portable Nebs has them. Guest guest
Bruce, Oh they are ridiculously expensive....so expensive in fact they almost put me off allowing my family to purchase me the Total O2 system. But then I did the math and the system including 4 tanks paid for itself in about a year. Even back when I had insurance from my employer through Cobra, that insurance only paid 50% of my DME. It's the little doohickey on the top of the tank which allows it to connect to the concentrator that makes the tank expensive. Otherwise they are just ordinary tanks. I do like the independence of being able to fill them myself but it is not a cheap system and would probably not be practical if one had coverage that paid for their O2. By the way, I have a positive Dx of Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease from a rhematologist at Duke. I have a couple of symptoms of Lupus, a couple of scleroderma but not enough to diagnose any one thing definitively. I'm still reading and learning and weighing my options. The one thing this does that's good is explain how and why I have fibrosis and that somehow helps! Beth Age 48 Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 Change everything. Guest guest
MB Maybe ultimately the price of homefill will come down and become economically sensible for oxygen companies. Glad you have a diagnosis, even if it doesn't answer a lot being " undifferentiated. " However, with that and NSIP the fact prednisone helped you and that you're stable now makes sense and I would hope monitoring blood work related to the autoimmune might let you know when time to take it again prior to any worsening of lungs. > > > > > > Jim, > > > Portable Nebs has them. Guest guest
Thanx alot, folks. I knew I could count on y'all.........goodness........$249.95 per.....darn near stroked out. I found the tank alone for $69.99 , who'd a thought that gizmo on the top would be made of precious metals. I currently rent (actually Blue Cross of Ak. rents) that total O2 system. It is probably the only system that will work here in the boonies, no roads, etc. My provider provides 2 tanks but I've realized that another 1 or 2 tanks means alot longer on the lake, and just possibly an overnighter. Whooo-Hawww, almost like, dare I say it, what I used to call normal. My provider will rent me another tank for $150.00 a month...........that's not likely. As I don't see a time in the future when I won't need this stuff........well, except the obvious........I reckon I'll buy at least one of these little beauties. Once again, thank you for your responses. jim IPF 05 alaska Subject: Re: portable O2 cylinderTo: Breathe-Support Date: Thursday, July 10, 2008, 2:18 PM Tri-med has them too http://www.tri- medinc.com/ TM/index. html#totalo2cyl oh my, I never realized how expensive those special cylinders were. >> Jim,> Portable Nebs has them. Guest guest
Even if you buy one don't give up on another from your provider. How long will the ones you have last? > > > > Jim, > > Portable Nebs has them. Here is the link http://www.portable nebs.com/ concentratorT. htm That's the link to the Total O2 concentrator. Guest guest
Hi Jim! I just want to say Hi Jim! Glad you worked some sort of solution to the portables. Hope everything else is ok. I don't mean to be rude, but did you receive the tea time I sent you? I'd hate to think you did not and I'm thinking you did. Did you enjoy the strawberries this year so far? MamaSher, age 69.
