Guest guest
Dear Rose, I have been reading your posts concerning your problems with your brother and son and coworkers understanding of pancreatitis. If you click on " Files " on the left column of this screen, and when that opens click on Gastro Chap. 12 document (second entry down), it will give you a very detailed research file of acute and chronic pancreatitis. I copied it some time ago, it's 11 pages, and carry it with me in case someone I'm with wants a little " light " reading to learn about this disease. There are also many sites to get less detailed, more generic explanations. You need to try to educate your family, though, girl, cause you're not going to be able to always be the one doing everything for them, they need to learn to help you out. I know my son, when it all started, just thought I was a serial complainer/whiner and then after my first acute attack and the severity of my condition at that time, he wised up, and lucky for me, has a girl friend that made him read up about it. He couldn't be more supportive now. Also, to help with your fatigue, if you aren't already, you need to start taking extra vitamins... I'd suggest C (500 mg), B-1 (Energy 100 mg), E (200 mg), folic acid (400 mg) and children's chewable multivitamins- (1 a day and easy on the tummy!), for starters. I've found them to be helful and have a lot more energy and less fatigue than I used to. So sit down with your tall glass of water, hehe....and print out that file. I mix my water rations up with Crystal Light Raspberry Tea and drink it by the gallons...don't know if that's acceptable, but it guarantees that I drink a lot of " water " each day. Good luck, and keep your chin up!
