What raises blood sugar? The simple answer is carbohydrates. So why not just yank them out of your diet like weeds in your garden? Why not quash blood sugar by swearing off bread, pasta, rice, and cereal? Been there, done that. The low-carb craze is on the downswing, and that's a good thing because over the long haul, very low carb diets simply aren't good for you, as you'll discover in this chapter. That " Me: And it goes down hill from there. The research of the past few years finds exactly the oppisite of the above claims. A few points in illustration. They speak of the failures when people stop using the low carb approach, well duh. It was confused with the weight loss diets which is only incidental to the concerns of a diabetic. A diabetic does not stop a diet when it has worked as one might with a weight loss diet. Diabetic diets are a lifestyle change, for life. The nutrition claims are unfounded for a diabetic, such as eating about half in carbs. Even the ada has stopped saying that. Eat to your meter to determine carbs.
