Guest guest
Can you get copies of some or all those xrays?? Sounds like they make your case. Subject: Thanks to everyone...To: Breathe-Support Date: Wednesday, July 30, 2008, 11:12 AM Thanks to everyone for your kind, and also very informative, messages. In answer to some of your questions:1. In North Carolina no person between 19 and 65 is entitled to Medicaid no matter how low their resources or how poor they are, unless they are on Social Security Disability. When this law was passed, if someone was already on Medicaid, it wasn't taken away from them, but no one new can go on it.2. I have had several conversations with Social Security, and was always given this same information a) an application for disability takes at least two years to process, and 2) if I apply for Social Security Retirement, then I cannot apply for Social Security Disability. However, I will call the 800 number one of you gave me, and ask again.3. I have no clubbing of my fingers whatsoever.4. In South Korea doctors just LOOOOOOOVE chest x-rays. Therefore in my time there I had 23 chest x-rays, some of which were in bizarre positions. Even to my untrained eyes the "spider webs" in my lungssuddenly began to grow quickly...lungs are pretty white. Thanks so much...I'll let you know what I'm told when I eventually actually go to a doctor.n
Guest guest
n, I think there is some confusion here. An application for SSDI does not take two years to process. I applied in September of 06 and was approved 4 months later in January of 07. The two years your thinking of is the two year waiting period for Medicare once you are approved for SSDI. As far as Medicaid in NC. Having SSDI is no guarantee of qualifying for Medicaid. My SSDI income is too high to allow me to qualify for Medicaid without first meeting a deductable of over $5000. It is in general very very difficult to qualify for Medicaid in North Carolina unless you are under 19 as you mentioned or pregnant. Beth Age 48 Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 UCTD 07/08 Change everything. Guest guest
n/ Beth Now mine was far more complicated than PF because I hadn't been diagnosed with PF yet. I did use an attorney-well actually my disability insurance carrier did. I first met with the attorney in November and had approval in April. So 5 months including whatever time the attorney took in filing. > > n, > I think there is some confusion here. An application for SSDI does not take two years to process.
