Guest guest
Are you wondering what type of mitochondrial testing is currently available to see if this is an underlying medical issue in your child with ASD? Please join MitoAction on Tuesday, February 8th, 2011 at 12:30 pm EST for an informal discussion of diagnostic testing used to diagnose mitochondrial disease/dysfunction at this time. Blood, urine and genetic testing will be discussed. Research in this area is still evolving and the connection between the two diseases, although recognized for over a decade, is rapidly gaining traction and attention. This is especially true with the recent publication of an article linking mitochondrial dysfunction and autism in the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA). Calls on the link between ASD and mitochondrial disease take place every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 12:30 pm EST. To participate in this resource-share by telephone, please call, 1- and enter code 017921# at the prompt. All are welcome. Please feel free to forward this announcement to other interested families.
