Deb,

It's so hard to lose someone. I feel for you. When you go through

these tough times it's hard to be strong and stay centered as often

you feel so helpless in the facing the loss, the illness, the

emotions, the hospital, doctors, etc. I hope that BFL gives you a

center in all this. Keep committing to yourself through out in order

to remain strong for others is the best advice I can give you. Having

gone through a similar situation in which I had no center and didn't

commit to myself because I gave all my energy to others ultimately

did not do me or them any good. All the advice that you see about

taking care of yourself first is good advice that we as women often

do not take!

Wishing you strength,

Jan

Marie..

This is a horrible tragedy. The thought of losing one child is devastating,

but the thought of losing 7 is unbearable. My prayers are with the family,

freinds and children that will have to live with the loss of seven loved ones.

I read about that accident and about the grandfather dying after he

heard the news. I can't imagine going through such a loss. Many

Subject: Prayers Requested

Hi all!

I hardly ever post but I'm always reading and lurking in the shadows.

I had my MGB surgery in March of 2001 and have always done fantastic with no

problems. ANYWAY, the reason for my post is to ask the group for their

prayers. I live in the small town of Lake and work at the only

elementary school in the county. This week we lost 7 children in a terrible

bus/truck accident. Several more children were hurt and recovery will be a

long and painful one. I'm sure alot of you heard about this terrible

accident as it has been on TV constantly for the last few days. PLEASE

remember the children in your prayers...pray for the ones we lost and pray

for the ones that still have to heal. Our small town is in a state of shock

as we prepare to bury these 7 children on Monday. The 7 children were from

one family...they lost every child they had. Just keep them in your

prayers. Thanks!!!

Hi everyone

I wanted to post my progress. Three months ago Dr Rutledge

changed my insides which is changing my life!! Thank you Dr R. Hello

Trish and Sandy!!!

Prior to my MGB I was on high bloodpressure meds..was diagnosed with

type 2 diabetes and dealt with incontinence and psoriasis. All the

above are GONE!!! without meds my bp is most days 117/75!! my skin

is clear and I don't need pantyliners!!!

I've lost 40 lbs and 26 inches off my body. I am soooo thrilled!!!

I am eating stage 3 now. But still don't eat any red meat yet.

Chicken or turkey and veggies mostly. I've gone from a size 3x to a

very loose 1x and even have a pair of size 18 pants that fit nice.

I've given 3/4 of my former wardrobe away. Some of my spring things

I haven't tried on yet but I am sure they are just taking up space

in my closet since most are 2x.

Thank you Dr R... Next time I'm in vegas I'd love to come to a

clinic!!!

Blessings to all

Judi,

You bet I will keep you and Ron in my prayers for this week. I have seen some

reports on this procedure and some patients can really get some satisfying

results. I hope this will hold true for Ron also.

You mentioned that you were cleaning your daughters house out. I presume then

it is empty of the ex? Wish I could help you out with some cleaning as you seem

to have your plate full.

Let us know when you can how everything goes. Give my best to Ron.

Terri

[ ] Prayers requested

Hi group,

Well, the time has finally arrived--Ron is scheduled for surgery this

Friday, July 28, at 11 AM. He is having the deep brain stimulation

procedure on one side. We will be grateful for any and all prayers and

supportive thoughts! I'll check in when I can and let you know how it

goes. Meanwhile, he also got some weird blood test results, and is

waiting to find out the answers to why his blood proteins are off. My

sweet hubby doesn't need any more challenges!

Just wondering how everyone else is--has anyone heard from Tess, Debs,

Jan, June, Tawny? I'm sorry I haven't kept up, but twice weekly trips

to Indianapolis plus trying to get my daughter's house cleaned up ready

for the new owner have kept me at the point of exhaustion.

I hope everyone is finding good ways to keep cool in all the heat that

is stifling this country (and a few European ones as well, so I hear!)

Thanks for the thoughts,

Judi

Good luck Becky and Sheryl! My daughter had hers out two years ago.. At age

13. Sleep with her in the bedroom for the first couple of nights.. And make

sure she has her popsicles! Get some nail polish and stuff.. And make it a

girls weekend! That's what DD and I did!

Take care.. And you're in my prayers!

Consider it done. I was 6 or 7 but that was my first and only surgery.

I hope she did well.

Please pray for this family. Their are so many murders commited everyday and none is worse than the other. And I pray for every one themand their families. But as a single mother, my heart just broke whenI heard and read about this murder. The story follows below. Two men made a beer run in a stolen car minutes before one of themstabbed a woman to death as she tried to stop a man from taking hervehicle with her 4-month-old daughter inside, deputies told KPRC Local2 Thursday. County sheriff's deputies said Tina Davila, 39, was fatallystabbed in front of the Cricket cellular store on Uvalde Road nearWallisville Road in northeast County at about 5 p.m. Wednesday."Apparently the victim had left her child, small child, in the vehicleas she ran in to pay her phone bill," Sgt. Pair said. "That'swhy she was attempting to take her keys back from the suspect. Basedon what our

witnesses tell us, that she was pleading for her car keysback; that he couldn't take her car, that her baby was inside the car. That's why she was fighting over the keys. That's when he stabbed herone time."Davila died at a nearby hospital.Surveillance camera video captured from inside the cellular storeshowed Davila getting out of her car, then a gold Ford Taurus drivingup beside her. A man got out and stole her keys. The video showedDavila fighting back.Davila's sister-in-law said watching the video of the attack washeartbreaking."She just drove up and they just drove right behind," said. "I don't know if they were following or if was just like, 'Hey,let's go get that.' I'm not really sure. It's just so many things thatcould have happened and no one knows."Deputies said a man stole beer at a Channelview convenience storeabout five minutes before the killing.

He and another man were usingthe same stolen car seen in the surveillance video from the cellularstore, officials said."We have learned that the vehicle that they used was taken in acarjacking in the city," Lt. Denholm said.Denholm said the man who ran out of the store with the beer was thesame man who stabbed Davila.Investigators are trying to find the stolen 2002 gold Ford Taurus withTexas license plate No. P42 CYY. Detectives want to find the attackerand the man who was driving the car, both of whom are considered armedand dangerous.Davila's daughter was not injured. She is staying with family members.Davila had three other children.
