Guest guest
I don't believe or go by half of what they say. I don't think they even know about carbs and how they can destroy us who are a diabetic. those same folks said for many years how good milk is good for growing kids. well I drank milk all my life and still dig milk, but being a diabetic it is a bad thing to like. most of those same people will tell you to eat more carbs a day then you should. best thing to do and to believe will be your meter and what it says is your 2 hour sugar reading after you last ate and not those folks who say milk will make you strong! Breakfast foods Hi All, What type of cereal do people like to eat that works well into their diabetic plans? I need a new cereal as I am getting tired of mine and want an alternative to oatmeal. Guest guest
Hi usually I have old fashion oatmeal, or steel oats but to get away from the oatmeal thing I have one piece of whole grain toast with a little natural peanut butter with some banana clices on top with some coffee " Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe. -- Philippians 2:14-15 " ~Be Blessed, Sugar Breakfast foods Hi All, What type of cereal do people like to eat that works well into their diabetic plans? Guest guest
I eat old faction oats with just almond milk and a bit of splinda. most folks think eating raw oats this way means I'm part horse, but I dig them much better raw and not cooked. Guest guest
Contrary to what you might have heard on the evening news, there are very few foods that are " off limits " for a diabetic. We could eat sugar cubes all day long if we wanted, watching our bg by frequently checking it, and exercising or taking extra insulin. You could eat waffles for breakfast every day. The issue is this: Are you eating well? Is the food you choose to eat nutrition rich? Are you eating the amount of food (referring to carbohydrates mostly for the moment) necessary to provide the energy you need, and not in excess? I'm trying to think of a food we dare not eat. It's not coming to me. There is probably something. Guest guest
How do you make that? I do have a can of oatmeal. I have used it in oatmeal cookies but never tried it just for oatmeal because it is so easy to grab one of those packets, about two thirds cup of water and away you go. I used to add sugar, now Splenda. Breakfast foods > Hi All, > > What type of cereal do people like to eat that works well into their > diabetic plans? Guest guest
How to prepare oat meal using old fashioned oat meal? Wait, I'll ask my wife... Seriously, they've got a microwave recipe on the container. Pretty sure it's equal amounts of water and oat meal. Just add any other ingredients you wish--ones that are healthy. I add some walnuts, blueberries, and a little honey for sweetener. Oh, and a small amount of milk.
