you pick a time to exercise that suits you but be consistent, try to do it the

same time each day. test your sugar before at first to make sure you don't go

low. on a normal day test your sugar before each meal and at bedtime. at first

you can always do another test two hours after each meal. you should never be

higher that six point six. also, always test when in doubt. you will get pretty

good at reading your body.

RE: Exercise and blood tests

Hello:

I'm wondering what time of day is best to exercise. Also, how often do I

need to check my blood sugar. After meals, before meals, etc.

I'd suggest most anytime, except prior to bedtime. As was suggested, check your

bg before you exercise. Although since you're a t2, you don't run the risk of a

debilitating drop in blood sugar.

If you are type 2, blood testing is good to do in the morning after rising

and before bed. It is also good to check 2 hours after eating, especially if

you want to see what the food you jut ate did to you. What did your doctor

suggest? sometimes the insurance company will limit how many times you can

check

sadly, I believe the standard insurance allowance is 1 strip for a type 2, and 3

for a type 1. Having said this, there are ways around it. I am completely

covered under Medicare for more than 8 strips per day.
