Guest guest
For us the pluses are better cognition (more " with it " ), elimination of fungus, able to hold urine, no more staph or cellulitis. The negative - we had to add No-Phenol or else got crabbiness. > > My 5 year old daughter is going to start enhansa, per her DAN Doctor....what to > expect? good and bad things?? Guest guest
We had already been doing lots of antifungal things prior to starting Enhansa, but even then we had tons of die off. We had to go very, very slow. We bought the powder and started with just one small scoop (comes with small and large scoop) and it took several weeks for the die off to stop, needed charcoal too. Then we increased by half or full small scoop, with 2-3 weeks inbetween. We got significant die off symptoms every time, and rashes almost every time. I believe there was yeast die off as well as viral die off, based on the types of rashes. Once the die off symptoms were gone, there was always a very nice improvement in behavior, calmness, improved clarity of speech, and better reports from school! We finally got to 600 mg per day, divided, but it took several months. that dose was not tolerated, with red ears and irritable behavior. the day after I reduced that dose slightly, those things stopped and have not returned. I think it was too much phenols for him to handle all at once...even though we took Trienza with it. It's really wonderful stuff, just be prepared for the mega die off and be patient, go very, very slow!ly HTH!! Guest guest
, thought you'd like to know parasites don't like turmeric! Could have been some parasite die off as well...they can produce rashes too. Guest guest
Just to clarify however, turmeric is high oxalate, though Enhansa tested low. I don't want to contribute to oxalate issues for anyone, even if you don't know you have one! We're no longer using Enhansa, but I know it was causing my son to have VERY crystal-y pee. The pee was so full of crystals, if I caught it in a cup, it would literally be half pee on top, half white crystals on bottom. It was shocking. What I don't know is if that was from stored oxalate, or new oxalate, so I'm asking the low ox group what they think to try and figure it out. Maybe or Toni can help??? > > > > > > My 5 year old daughter is going to start enhansa, per her DAN Doctor....what to > > > expect? good and bad things?? Guest guest
Amy...ooooh! Tell me more! What kind of rash would that cause? What other signs? I've never seen any live things in my son's stools. He's trained now, so I inspect all poop before it's flushed, but it's not the same as digging through a diaper. There have been a few times I swear there were things shifting inside the stool, but it also looked like the water was breaking it apart and making it look like it was swimming. You should have seen me leaning over the toilet, watching the poop fall apart for 5 min or so! the things we do!! What does parasite die off look/act like? Thanks! Guest guest
Well, specifically die-off rashes, I don't know. I was really talking about how they cause the release of histamine, which can cause rashes. I googled Parasites and Mastocytosis, and got all kinds of information. Now I'm confused about what may be oxalate rashes and what may be histamine rashes, but either way, I've addressing both. My son seems like a high histamine kid, so it all seems to fit for me. Lots of food allergies, multiple chemical sensitivities. Knowing about parasites and histamine really helped me understand how much strain they are putting on my son's body. Not just taking nutrients I'm trying so hard to get in there. When we used Enhansa, I figured the die-off fevers and stuff were all yeast or viruses, and that may be the case. But I am starting to wonder if maybe it were parasites too, and part of the reason we saw so many good things at that time. Sorry to give you something ELSE to obsess over :-), Amy > > > > > > > > My 5 year old daughter is going to start enhansa, per her DAN Doctor....what to > > > > expect? good and bad things?? Guest guest
Amy, I'm curious to know what you've learned about histamine. I suspect my nt (age 5) has histamine problems as his reactions to shots result in severe swelling. Bug bites, too. Mosquito bites look like spider bites, spider bites will make him look disfigured. If he is exposed to an allergen (mostly cats), he will have "cold symptoms" for days. It's almost as if his body won't stop producing histamine reactions once it starts. I've tried so hard to find info on this but it never gets me anywhere. He can't be the only person on earth this happens to. He will be seeing my other son's dan because of this. I'm so afraid one of these days he'll encounter something that causes him to go anaphylactic. I've looked at allergy web-sites, methylation, histamine and I come up empty handed every time. Maybe it isn't a histamine issue at all, but it sure sounds like one... -Tammy To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Thu, February 24, 2011 7:16:28 AMSubject: Re: Can somebody tell me what to expect with Enhansa? Guest guest
I'm laughing so hard, cause I've got a whole poop inspectin' kit in there! Rubber gloves, plastic baggies, my " digger " LOL!! My husband just shakes his head and walks on by....even my son asks " whatcha lookin' for Mommy? Guest guest
Have you tried looking up Mastocytosis? It's when your body has too many mast cells, or the mast cells are just working over time basically, kind of reacting to everything. It can be systemic, which is a real medically recognized illness and the treatment for that can be Ketotifen or GastroCrom (I think) and Zantac (or one of the other meds in this family) I'm going off of memory here. These meds are histamine blockers and they block the H1 and H2 receptors in the gut, which stops the histamine response. Ketotifen is a mast cell stabilizer as well as the GastroCrom. We tried it, but it didn't work for Foard. (some side effects are respiratory infections and he's still recovering from it) Ketotifen is an asthma medication, but Dr. Woeller's protocol is for food reactions and gut healing. I know Oxalates can cause a histamine response too, not sure of the mechanism, but they do, so we have a double whammy. They even recommend antihistamines on the low ox site. I haven't been able to find out alot about oxalates and histamine, but I'm still looking. Try www.tmsforacure.org. It's a Mastocytosis Society page and they have a lot of info there. One of the things that caught my attention is the flushing. My son will have rashes over his whole body that look like he's sunburned, then they'll disappear in about thirty minutes. Two times, it's been after he's been outside playing, and I've read that parasites like low body temperature. (hello thyroid and iodine people, doesn't this make sense?) Are they aggravated and causing a histamine reaction? Don't know, just a guess. Hey, I've heard crazier theories.... I can't say it's an oxalate reaction because he doesn't eat anything high enough to cause that, but maybe?? Google parasites and mastocytosis too. That should get you curezone.com and there's a few posts about it that are interesting to read. Hth, Amy p.s. My son has crazy reactions to bug bites too, and sneezes ALL the time! > > > > > > > > > > My 5 year old daughter is going to start enhansa, per her DAN > >Doctor....what to > > > > > > > expect? good and bad things?? Guest guest
Thank God I'm not the only one! My husband does the same thing (shaking his head) and I'm always reminding my son not to flush. Guest guest
Just a FYI, my son has not had a staph infection or cellulitis since starting Enhansa. They used to be frequent. Getting a bug bite used to mean going to the doctor.
