Guest guest
Hey! Mark, can I watch? LOL! question please. If my flex pen has a few more units left in it, but not enough for my shot, do I use what is left in the all most empty pen and then use the next new pen for what I have to make up a shot amount? hate to pitch any out just because it isn't enough for a shot. my sugars have been so good the past 5 days on the flex pen that he has lowered my evening dose to 17 instead of 20. I suppose he thought I was maybe going to low at night. maybe I should have ask the nurse. so far to day I have tested 3 times and all 3 have been under 120 and over 100 of course. actually they have been 104, 106, and 112. I haven't seen numbers like this in more then seven years! I only started the insulin on Friday. it isn't a week yet. I believe I will picture my self doing cart wheels up the street! Guest guest
I'm a tightwad, Mark, and I hate to waste anything! I'll throw a pen away with a unit or maybe 2, but if there's more than that, I just take 2 injections--using up the old, and making up the difference with the new pen. Guest guest
well that is what I figured to do my self and now I know for sure. the shots are no big deal. actually poking your finger hurts more to me then the shot does. question please. Guest guest
Mar, those scores are outstanding and you're to be commended. Keep up the great control. I don't use a pen but if I did, I would use every last unit even if it meant two shots at the end of a pen. I know I gather my Humalog bottles when there is not enough left in one to fill my pump cartridge and use a syringe to combine the units in each into one bottle that is half to three quarters filled. As they used to say during the days of the depression, " Use it up. Wear it out. Make it do, or do without. " Alan Lemly question please. Guest guest
Hi, Congrats on the blood sugars! Yes, If I don't have enough in the pen for a complete dose, I use the remainder of the pen, then make up the difference with the new pen. Hope this helps, Brett. > > the key word here is, Picture! this means I will see me doing it in > only my mind, but I'm here to tell you it is a grate sight to see and > I do it so well! all the way up one side and all the way back up the > other! beautiful cart wheels are they! Guest guest
yes it most certainly does. found out yesterday my insurance company will pay $192 for the box of 5 flex pens and I pay $88. I was hoping they would do better then this, but not going to complain to much. also not going to waste anything I can use. might beg the coc to give me more free pens though every chance I can. begging does become me when money is involved! question please. > > If my flex pen has a few more units left in it, but not enough for my > shot, do I use what is left in the all most empty pen and then use the > next > new pen for what I have to make up a shot amount? hate to pitch any > out just > because it isn't enough for a shot. my sugars have been so good the > past 5 > days on the flex pen that he has lowered my evening dose to 17 instead of > 20.
