Guest guest
ok, that may work best for me. I'm not getting hungry between meals even though I go 5 hours between meals. but I now got some idea for if it happens I need some thing. I drink a lot of water during the day and I know this helps. choices of snacks please. the saw bones said to eat a snack between meals or at bed time if I feel I need one. so would this be like sugar free jello, walnuts, sugar free pudding, boiled egg, peanuts, pork rimes, or what else? the pork rimes may be out for me. they are high in fat, but low in carbs. right now I'm doing fine with no snacks and not getting hungry between meals. I eat breakfast at 5 a.m, lunch at 11-30 a.m and dinner with the wife at 5-30 and we hit the sack at 8 pm. seems kind of early to most folks, but when the alarm goes off at 4-30, it sure don't feel like you got enough sleep right when you get up. so just in case later up the road I get in the mood for a snack that isn't going to send my sugar out the roof, give me some ideas please and I will make a note of them. celery and peanut butter sounds really good, but my idea of peanut butter is maybe a table spoon on each piece of celery. Guest guest
ok sounds good, but what in the world is kale chips and Greek yogurt? I can certainly dig on the sour dill pickle, because I love that salty flavor! I know though, not good for me. to much salt! like the old timers use to say? If it taste good, if it is fatting, or if it is immoral, spit it out!!! choices of snacks please. the saw bones said to eat a snack between meals or at bed time if I feel I need one. so would this be like sugar free jello, walnuts, sugar free pudding, boiled egg, peanuts, pork rimes, or what else? the pork rimes may be out for me. they are high in fat, but low in carbs. right now I'm doing fine with no snacks and not getting hungry between meals. Guest guest
My favorite snack is Celery sprinkled with seasoning like Crazy Mixed Up Salt. If you need to stay away from salt, I’m sure you could find other substitutes. I love PB as well but the seasoning has no calories or carbs to speak of and for me is equally satisfying. Guest guest
One thing I try to do when eating a meal a bit higher in carbohydrates, using Becky's waffles as an example, is to also have some protein with the meal. When we have pancakes for instance, I'll have 2 poached eggs. The protein slows down the carbohydrate absorption into the blood. Guest guest
I like sunflower seeds, almonds, preferably smoked, and almond M & M's. And, occasionally, an almond joy. Guest guest
Yes, it is as bad as syrup. Have your tried cottage cheese or ricotta pancakes? has a great recipe and with hardly any carbs in them. They are delicious. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Don Hansen Sent: Friday, March 16, 2012 12:21 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: RE: choices of snacks please. Guest guest
I heard honey is just as bad and you better be careful when using it instead. to your body sugar is sugar and will mess your sugar up. natural or man made, your body doesn't know the difference. choices of snacks please. the saw bones said to eat a snack between meals or at bed time if I feel I need one. so would this be like sugar free jello, walnuts, sugar free pudding, boiled egg, peanuts, pork rimes, or what else? the pork rimes may be out for me. they are high in fat, but low in carbs. right now I'm doing fine with no snacks and not getting hungry between meals.
