Guest guest
do u mean use your insulin seringe again? Or is it your needle to test your bg with? In both cases i used both more than once and in case of my lansets, i use one for several tests. Changing the lansing device all the time is a big pain in the rear. -- My skype is scott20122012 Have a great day! 73's kb0clz Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network. Guest guest
Well, as long as you are the only one using it i would say u can use the same one over again. Eventually u should change though but u don't have to all the time, at least in my sometimes not so popular opinion. -- My skype is scott20122012 Have a great day! 73's kb0clz Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network. Guest guest
Hi: maybe I am over doing it, but I change my pen tip each shot. I have been known to get a nasty absess when using it more then once even though it is just me myself and I using the needle. I know this does not happen to everyone but just watch for signs of infection or anything like that. yesterday is history. Tomorrow a mystery. Today is a gift, that is why it is called the present. Guest guest
I change the pen tip once a day. I do it first time in the morning. This way I don't have to remember the last time I changed it. I've never had any problem, and I take at least 3 shots a day (one for each meal) and sometimes another 1 or 2. I do use the needle I get blood with for testing all day, but can I use the shot needle twice in the same day and then throw it away? seems like a waste to throw it away after only one shot, when the other shot it will do will still be for me that evening. Guest guest
In my opinion, you should wipe the syringe or lancet with alcohol after using to help make sure that it is stirrle. Guest guest
Not sure there is medical evidence to support wiping the needle with alcohol will make any difference. I try not to finger it and if for some reason the tip does come in contact with something, I do change it. Also, if it gets bent, I'll change it. Repeated uses will tend to bend the tiny needle. I'll stand by my experience (and there are others) who have had no trouble re-using them. Guest guest
Yes, but after using the syringe there will be tissue on the needle and it may be hours before you use it again. Any smart person would want to ttry to avoid a dirty needle. Jerry From: dave Bond Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 4:48 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: my shot needle? Guest guest
Again, my experience counters your point. I agree, it seems like the needle could be contaminated, yet there is simply no proof it is. Long before I started using pens, I re-used syringes. And I haven't used an alcohol swab in more than 20 years. And I am a reasonably intelligent person, BTW! Seriously, I believe you can re-use tips or syringes as long as there is no other contaminant, or you aren't using someone else's needle. Guest guest
I re-used insulin syringes several times befor discarding them. The alcohol swabs were a pain to use, so I never bothered with the. The only time I would use them was if my injection site was dirty or sweaty. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of dave Bond Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2012 4:56 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: my shot needle? Guest guest
Believe me, Jerry, unless thesere is a hook on the nd of your needle, there is no tissue left on it. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Jerry Litterell Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 7:55 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: my shot needle?
