Hi,

Thanks to all of you who gave me that "little kick out the door."

This morning I went out on my first walk since the end of Aug! It wasn't too difficult to get out today either because we're having such a beautiful day, although it is just a bit chilly still!! Didn't know how much I missed it until I got outside in the fresh air and sun! There is such a feeling of spring in the air because I noticed buds on the trees, jonquils blooming in some yards, and tulips breaking through the soil. As to be expected, I've lost some of my previous stamina, but I was able to comfortably walk, believe it or not, for about 30 minutes. And all I can say is WHOPPEE!!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Best wishes and thanks,

Jeanne

yay, jeanne!!!that first wallk is the hardest one, i bet. and it's all about just getting out the door!just remember to keep the stakes low for a while until you're comfortably back in the routine.

i'm working on that myself.isnt this the perfect time of year to get back into the routine? every day there is good news that spring is coming... well, here in nyc that optimism was doused with 17 inches snow last week... but now it's just about gone and it's nearly 50 degrees out today!

woo hoo!off to the great outdoors myself now! (and still a little threatened by how much ive lost... but it's getting easier everytime.)abby

Thanks so much, Abby! I certainly appreciate the reminder of taking it slow for a while! I know those previously sleeping muscles may be talking to me a little tomorrow, but they needed to wake up anyway.

You're correct, this is certainly the perfect time of the year to get back into the routine! It is about 60 degrees here in Georgia today but with lots of sunshine. Still a little chilly in the shade, but after what we've been through here recently weather wise, this is such a wonderful and welcomed change!!! Of course, we haven't been beaten up quite as badly as you all in the northeast, a snow-cane, WOW! For us down here, I can't remember a winter where the cold snaps have lasted as long as they have this year.

Hope you have an absolutely wonderful run, Abby!!! I'm off to feed the birds and soak up a little more sunshine (but without the coat)! Have a great rest of the weekend!

All the best,

Jeanne

Hi Jeanne,

I'm so glad you had a successful walk! I kicked my butt out the door also today and really enjoyed the fresh air :.)
