Guest guest
Hi, I still have a hard time iwth eatng out after 6 years of being diabetic. I think chinese is the worst, where Iplan to eat a couple of things and then eat much more than that. I hate to think I can't go there. I thik the thing could be to order the stuff and take home what you should have and not what you want. There is an app called gomeals put out by calorieking. I think it is free. you can get all of the readings of calories, carbs and more on each food, whether it be a retaurant or grocery store food. There is a feature of putting food in your plt, and they put in whatever you pick out for the day. It is a wonderful program and extremely accessible. Guest guest
There are 2 things you can count on me asking for in a restaurant. First, water to drink (instead of soda or anything else over priced). And second, a doggie box! I'd guess 99% of the time, none of us should eat the amount of food brought to us for a meal in a restaurant. Guest guest
I have always heard to keep from over eating, you get the to go box as soon as you order, then you put half of the meal in the to go box before you start eating. this way you only eat half to day and the other half to morrow. I've never ever tried this before, but may for the first time the first time I order a meal and not a salad. left over salad just sucks to me. Guest guest
now if you just don't dig plain water, then try a touch of lemon juice or even lime in the glass. you could even add some splinda or another sweetener and make lemon aid. I use a 32 ounce glass when ever I drink water and I most days drink 3 this size. some times I will add lemon or lime, but not always. do add splinda and make lemon aid at times when I wish for a change. not bad stuff if I say so my self. also at times I will add some vinegar to a glass of water and then add a touch of spice. use to add salt and made it taste like pickle juice. use to get in trouble as a kid because I would always drink the pickle juice and the pickles would dry out. going out to eat dinner to day. > We got his restaurant here in OkC called Chili's and they got all you > can eat, salad, soup, chips and dip for $8.50 on the weekends. during the > week it is only $6.50. well went there 2 weeks ago and had me 3 plates of > salad with no dressing, 2 bowls of chicken soup and ten chips that I > counted out of the huge basket they give you and the dip is just spicy > sausa which is to salty, but ok. Guest guest
Part of my motivation, in truth, is I'm a tightwad, as I believe I've mentioned. I look at the meal they serve in restaurants as 2 meals, and when I leave the place, I'll have another meal in a box. It's a given. Guest guest
now this is exactly what I need to start doing, but right now I'm in to only eating a salad that doesn't have a pile of bad junk on it and I only eat the dressing that is as well ok. lots of folks I know will have there salad floating in ranch dressing and they think they are eating good because it was a salad under all that dressing.
