Guest guest
I've done so much Cheryl in the past 2 1/2 years...from Gluthadione Transdermal creams, Enhansa, B12 shots, probiotics, GF/CF diet since he was 18 months. To vitamins: TMG, Taurine, Miscellized A, D3, zinc, Vegan Protein powder, cod liver oil, omega, Houston Enzymes, B6, DMG, viamin E, Calcium, methyl-Folate, Coq10, L-Carnitine L-Carnitine Acetyl....3 rounds of Vancomycin for his Clostridia, Difflucan, ValtrexTo 40 dives of HBOT, Hippo-Therapy, hours of OT, Speech Therapy 20 hours of weekly private ABA sessions, Special Pre-K.I mean some symptoms have improved like he no longer touches his ears, spins toys, ignores us entirely, stopped the major flapping....but he still stares off for 2 minutes, does some vocal stims, still echolalic, runs walks on his toes, has that flighty eye contact and doesn't speak in sentences or know how to express himself yet, oh and the dreadful potty training has been such a flop! Not sure what to do at this point, I'm very desperate and feel so lost. My next step is trying the GAP's diet, it seems to target most underlying problems like Clostridia, Yeast, Fungus...maybe I'll restart Valtrex with Difflucan again???I also bought Dr. Goldbergs, book on the "Myth on Autism", can't help but think about Marcia Hinds inspirational recovery story...I wonder how is she these days.Anyways, so sorry for the horrendous book I'm sending, but it's just pure madness, and I've lost my enthusiasm, feel a bit depressed and tired of the fanatical truly expensive Biomedical Protocals. I try to stay positive, but it can be deteriating. Guest guest
Hey ladies,Don't give up. Just re-group. We didn't have any real wows with my daughter (she is high functioning/Asperger's but has many issues past social ones!) until we did LDN. low Dose Naltrexone... She is becoming a " normal " annoying 6 year old now. LOL You know, lying, being sneaky etc... Grrr. Haha. It has been hard to rule out what did good because I threw so much at both kids. But I know the LDN has been awesome for her!!!I still do supps because I've been too disorganized to go thru and weed out what I should. But mostly it's regular vits, mins, gaba and melatonin. We still do some epsom salt baths occasionally. I need to try to concentrate and get our routine more organized so I can see what works, and such... and likely you two need to take a deep breath and do the same.... maybe just go back to basics.... sometimes when we take stuff away, we see that wow, that thing really was doing something. Guest guest
Toni, do you need a Dr's prescription for LDN? Is it compounded, where do you get it from? Is it an antifungal or antiviral? I recall 's 's old post referring to it. Any side effect what does it really work on? How is Tracey, I wonder?Sorry for all the questions, haven't posted in so long....thank you From: Toni Marie Lombardo ; To: <mb12 valtrex >; Subject: Re: Re: Vision Therapy for flighty eye contact?? Guest guest
lol at book. That was paragraph compared to most of mine. I think i know what you are feeling. I did most(all and more) of those things except HBot and Vancomycin. I did the AC chelation. Some helped. Some didnt. I would really investigate the iodine factor, if you have it in you to try one more thing. Well, not just one thing ;-) another protocol. I can feel you cringe! Yes i know how horrid that sounds.Been there. I would also check your own iodine levels because i have seen very few parents of autistic children that dont have issues themselves, myself included. Which kept getting worse as i got older. And after more than a year on iodine i have to say my health and mental health is so much better it's not even comparable to before. I think your son still has virus and parasites probably yeast. He may still have it all, with metals and strep. It may have been tampered down with biomed but not eliminated. I know that sounds bleak but i do think there is hope so dont give up hope just yet. The GAP diet seems to have alot of high oxalate and goitrogenic foods. I knew nothing about it (GAP) before i googled it just now so someone else can correct me if i am wrong. On the little i have read about the Low Ox Diet, and oxalates (i had no idea until recently what oxalates were or did, just like i knew nothing about goitrogens a year ago) i think i can see why it is helping people. I think it all boils down to not enough available iodine. I admit that i have never tried diet, except to eliminate most milk(which helped a little). Used enzymes which i do think help. Lessen consupmption of bread. Increase protein, mostly chicken. Good Fats. Organic veggies (mostly i grow my own). The potatoes thing is really making me wonder. I love potatoes, loves potatoes. I think it would be interesting to see what would happen a week or so without them. I am increasing his dosage this week so will be interesting to see what else happens, too.And i intend to add the Black Walnut hulls and Wormwood. Fairly convinced mostly parasites remain now. I have found our current protocol much easier to afford and maintain than previous ones (and ive had a few!). Lugols Iodine, Mag (Chloride and Malate), Se, Natural Salt, Vit C, Water(lots) Tyrosine, D3, Inositol, Niacin, B2, B combo, (and if i am repeating myself from a previous post forgive me i think i just wrote the supps list but not sure if it was for your post). I also take Nutri-Meds Porcine Thyroid. You can do additional supps, or not. The ones listed are considered mandatory with the exception of D3, Tyrosine and Inositol, i just think they are needed. I havent seen the need for Biotin,Folic or Taurine anymore, since a few months after iodine supplementation. Or i imagined it and wanted to lessen the number of pills i take Either way, skin, hair, nails and gut are good. And i just wrote another book. I think it will help. I could be wrong. Been wrong before. It's worth a try before you give up. Guest guest
Eye contact improved here with a combination ofNordic Naturals cod liver oil +DHerbalFactors - Olive leaf extractEnzymatic - ResveratrolNatural Factors - BromelainTurmeric (not enhansa, just organic non-irradiate turmeric) that way you get the full form of the root. Nutribiotic - Grapefruit seed extractEasy Bones - calcium/magnesiumUltimate Flora - 50 billion cell probioticWe also used Paragone to treat for a tapeworm.Regular bowel movements also helped. The key for us was reducing inflammation. The first five supplements I listed have anti-inflammatory properties. Now he only avoids eye contact when he is anxious or nervous or overwhelmed with sensory issues.Hope this helps.Irma,I know how u feel. Nothing seems 2 work here either. I feel deflated. Guest guest
I know Wilma, it's really awful. I was feeling so down earlier and disinflated like you said earlier but after reading some posts and getting your replies I feel so much better, suprisenly enough. This forum really gives me hope and so much more awareness. The parents on this board have already jumped this hurdle and have recovered children and I hope you I and the rest of this panel make the same leaps to recovery!! I'd like to think that my son is at 75% close to recovery...and hopefully we could all get past this journey. How's your child and what's their age? God bless you as well!!! Guest guest
This helps tremendously ! but may I ask why so many types of antivirals? Guest guest
When I first started out with the biomed I looked for supplements that would take care of as many things as possible. My focus was anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral and antiparasitic. I looked at all the things Stan had been vaccinated for, and matched supplements that would treat as many of those diseases as possible as well as any side effects one would have if they had the disease itself eg liver damage from hepatitis. I also paid attention to what many people were saying about the high titres for measles, HHV6 etc in their children. If it also treated parasites and had an anti-inflammatory/antioxidant property it was a keeper. I looked at the symptoms I was seeing and matched with supplements that were known to alleviate those symptoms. If it was immune modulating that was an additional factor that was considered a bonus.I found most of my info at http://www.herbwisdom.com/ If you scroll to the bottom of the page it will tell you what the herb is good for. If you read about Olive Leaf extract you will see that it is good for just about anything that ails you. Turmeric is also great for many things. I also looked for herbs that are usually combined together in the variouis complexes that are available for sale. I also looked at the biofilm protocol by Dr. Usman and picked what seemed to be logical substitutes. Grapefruit seed extract and bromelain fell into that category as well as many of the other things I just mentioned.Olive leaf extract is excellent for killing off a wide range of viruses and parasites including tapeworm. Grapefruit seed extract was for biofilm and turmeric was great for anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and antiparasitic and helped with liver function.Bromelain is good as anti-inflammatory and also good for tapeworm.Reseveratrol has been shown to increase processing in the frontal lobe and the brand I mentioned has a Japanese ingredient which is known to be effective for tapeworm.I based dosage on Stan's weight. Instructions on the package for max dosage are usually for 150 pound people. eg Olive Leaf Extract said 1-2 500mg capsules 3x day. So if your child is 30 lbs the calculation would look like 150 lbs divide by 30 lbs = 5. Max 6 x 500 mg capsules = 3000 mg divided by 5 = 600 mg max for a 30 lb child. So I would split the one 500mg capsule into thirds and give one third of it 3x day. I always worked my way up to the final amount over a period of 3 weeks, or longer if it seemed that he hadn't quite adjusted to it yet.Let me know what your child weighs and I will give you the final doses you want to work up to.This helps tremendously ! but may I ask why so many types of antivirals? Guest guest
Hey Cheryl- could you tell me where you get your supps? I've ordered the iodine at your suggestion and am excited to try it, but have had a new thing come up. My 17month old typical baby and 3 yr old are pooping worms...it started right after I introduced ole and freshly juiced pineapple. They are really short, black, threadlike, and NUMEROUS ! Will the iodine be enough to address this or do I need a beefed up parasite protocol? And if so what is the best? AND..no. thats all. - Chrissy MostromTo: mb12 valtrex Sent: Sun, February 27, 2011 1:22:29 PMSubject: Re: Vision Therapy for flighty eye contact?? lol at book. Guest guest
Cod liver oil and Vitamin A protocol truly helped my son's vision. He could not track planes in the sky, had very poor peripheral vision and loved to watch TV upside. After cod liver oil (peach flavored from Nordic Naturals) on his waffles for one week, he began tracking planes, pointed out billboards to us and no longer watched TV upside down. His eye contact was much better after the high Vitamin A protocol, but is poor again if other things are bothering him such as yeast. It is a frustrating puzzle for all of us and know your not on the journey alone. Good luck, Kay
Guest guest
Ewwwwwwww. TMI! I know things like this can be in us but it still has the same shock effect when i see just how much they are in us ! Really yuck. Just makes me want to make sure there are none in me! I get most mine at Swansons. C http://www.swansonvitamins.com/NCL028/ItemDetail?n=0 This is a buffered c so it has calcium and magnesium as carbonate. I also use their Pureway C which is a liposomal C. Mag http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SN120/ItemDetail Magnesium Malate is tolerated well internally Mag http://www.swansonvitamins.com/NCL018/ItemDetail?n=0 This is magnesium chloride, I put it in a spray bottle and spray it on. You dont have to have 2 kinds of mag, and i use Mag Chloride more often than the malate, i like to use Mag Malate every so often because it's good for the liver. http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SW043/ItemDetail?n=0 This is 100mg niacin. I get 50mg niacin at my local pharmacy. I like the smaller mg cause you can take it a several times during the day to keep levels up without flushing. Selenium http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU171/ItemDetail?n=0 B2 http://www.swansonvitamins.com/NWF795/ItemDetail Inositol: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/JR084/ItemDetail?n=0 Tyrosine: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU513/ItemDetail?n=0 http://www.thebetterhealthstore.com/The-Real-Food-Trading-Co.-Himalayan-Pink-Sea\ -Salt-Raw-And-Natural-Mineral-Salt-1bag-2-Lb This is where i get my salt. I think the verdict is still out on whether the iodine is enough for all parasites and/or how much is needed for each kind. 100 years ago docs did recommend a high dosage when it was used for parasites. Way more than i have tried. From what i have read the black walnut hulls and wormwood seem to kill the most. Paratrex seems to be used alot but i havent tried that yet. OLE and pineapple seems fairly effective! I have not ever used them in combination, that i can think of. Might be interesting to see what else comes out with further usage. Guest guest
hahaha I know. Guest guest
.K thanks so much for your post! I know the yeast bug critters are so hard to kill!!! I could tell he has high yeast amounts still because he's starting to revisit old vocal stimms once again. Maybe his Clostridia levels have gone down because his bowels don't smell like sewer any longer.I'm going to have to get tougher on those bugs!!! I'm also going to add Cod Liver Peach back again or fermented Cid liver oil back into his diet (I luv that peach flavor one). I use to give him Miscellized A (went up to 15 drops daily one time) I wish I knew more about the vitamin A protocal...will have to try it...how did you do the vitamin A protocol on your child? Thxs again! From: Kay Berry ; To: <mb12 valtrex >; Subject: Re: Vision Therapy for flighty eye contact??
