Guest guest
Oh, so true! Thanks for offering this. I've observed similar things in the youngest of my nieces and nephews when I watch them eat and play, before they have been too affected by all the influences that surround them. May you follow your intuition as you go forth, and continue to draw inspiration from these pristine, innocent sources. > > I just want to talk about my IE inspirations (other than you guys!) for a second. > I work in an elementary after school program and I love to watch those kids. We serve them snack and sometimes they finish their snacks, sometime they eat everything but one bite, sometimes they ask for more, and sometimes they don't want snack at all. > I also love watching them run around outside. The latest thing is jump roping believe it or not, and all the girls love to get together and learn new ways to jump rope, or see how long they can go without messing up. They also love to do cartwheels and monkey bar contests. I think adults need playgrounds instead of gyms. > My goal is to be like these intuitive eaters in the raw, to sometimes eat more or less and not be afraid to leave one bite, then to move my body because it's fun and I want to see what it can do. > If you need some IE inspiration, find some kids. They'll blow you away. > > McKella >
Guest guest
It's pretty funny to watch them if I make something they really like. They're not self-conscious at all about eating, and often parade around afterwards patting their bellies and talking about how much they ate. It *sounds* unhealthy, but it really isn't. They like food, and they like to eat, and being teenagers they naturally eat a lot, but their brains aren't wrapped around food. If they're involved in something interesting, they'll often forget to eat for hours. And neither has ever had even a hint of a weight problem. I'm sure you've done a lot more good parenting to your sons, besides not passing on food issues, than you realize right now! Have a good evening! Best wishes, Jeanne
