Guest guest
definitely. I keep mine right next to my bed on a night stand, ready to go. Reach me at: Email: hear2c@... Skype: keith.steinbach1 Let me know your opinion again please. woke up this morning around 2-45 a.m had to go to the boy's room, but I noticed I had the chills or more like the shakes instead. my ticker was faster then normal, but not higher then the 90's. I did take the slow deep breaths like Pat said works for her and it really did help. it took about 30 minutes for the shakes to go away. my sugar when I went to bed was 107 and breakfast this morning was 124. I'm thinking my body may have had a crash around that time of the morning and this may be why I got the shakes again. when the alarm went off at 4-25 I was fine and the ticker was as it should be. I don't have my meter near the bed, but was wondering if you guys think it would be a good idea to have it near in case this was to happen again? I'm all most sure it was the shakes from my body thinking it is to low. the ticker was fine other then a bit fast. I've read that this crash can make the heart speed up some anyway. I believe if I could have my rather, I would prefer the shakes while I'm awake and not from sleeping and wake up that way. I hate to go to the rest room during the night. this is why I woke up and it is also why I stop drinking anything after 4 pm. I go to bed around eight and this is enough time to empty the old bladder and allow me to sleep through the night. just was wondering what you guys think the shakes were? this is day twelve and I'm certainly ready for my body to get with the new program and play fair! Guest guest
Markie, As has been noted long ago on this list you need to keep your meter close by most of the time as you can not trust your body to tell you if you are low or high. You cold easily misread the signs and make a large mistake with your medications. If you do not drink any liquid after 4 in the afternoon you could be having another problem, dehydration. This can cause a whole nother set of problems and symptoms. Also, if your body woke you up from a deep sleep the Dawn Effect could be playing a part in this little play. Guest guest
I always check in the middle of the night. So, yes, my meter is in the bedroom, close to hand. The reason I check it is because I can't make it through the night without a potty break, to put it bluntly. But this works okay and it allows me to manage my middle of the night readings, which remain problematic for me. Guest guest
It is really hard for us to diagnose what was wrong, but keeping your meter by your bed is very important. Guest guest
I usually can tell when I'm low or high also, but I use those indications to check my BG to confirm my suspicions and to determine just how low or high. I routinely check my GG a minimum of 6 times a day. Guest guest
The thing is, I have trouble with the middle of the night bg readings being high, not low. This has something to do with me needing to eat a fairly substantial snack, or else I would get low. And sometimes do. Guest guest
well now when ever I get high I laugh a lot and talk silly nonsense. actually everything is funny when I get high. but I did kick that habit many years ago. O no! you are talking about a sugar high instead? I'm so sorry. I just can't help my self when I hear the word high. my wife still corrects me after all these years when I say I'm going to eat my meds. back in my days of being a head I ate all pills and most wasn't from a saw bones either. every one that was an old head back in the day would refer to taking meds as eating meds. I got no clue why, but when you live in Rome, well you do as the Roman's do I guess! certainly didn't mean to make light a serious issue, but just couldn't help my hippy self when you said how you feel when you are high. I heard an old gf say one time that getting stoned on grass made her feel like she had chicken legs. I never figured that one out and still to this day I think on what she mint when I have nothing better to think of. Re: Let me know your opinion again please. Hi.
