now I'm impressed with any of you who can eat just one of what you like and

walk away from the rest. knowing it is there just waiting for you to come enjoy

some more. not this pig! no way! if I can't eat all I wish, then not going to

start eating any. I have no good sense what so ever when it comes to just eating

one and moving on. my hat is off to all you who can pull this off. I got a

butter milk that I purchased to make hush puppies last week for my honey and

there is some left in the ice box. I love butter milk! however, I been taking a

small sip each morning until that puppy is finished. can't believe I haven't

turned it up and downed it all ready, but these readings of mine has took a bit

of hard work to get them down where they live now and only one higher number

will make me mad! one of the best pleasures that I use to partake of was, half

gallon of butter milk and a box of white or coconut doughnuts! it was pure

heaven on earth I'm here to tell you right now!

Well, Mark, your little sip of buttermilk is a good example of eating only one

cookie. You can do it!

Markie,

Shucks fella, that is not a problem so long as the one you pick is

sufficiently large. (LOLLOLLOL)

Dave,

This reminds me of the time our family Doc told one of my daughters she

needed to lose some weight.

Poor child had a real weight problem due in no part from her being deprived

of food when she was a baby and before we got her.

He told her to do plenty of arm exercises. When she ask him what kind of arm

exercises would help her lose the weight he said “Pushing away from the

table”.

Yum! Yeah, enjoy one, but push yourself to be satisfied with only one at a

time. I do this, and I can also go without if I really need to. For

instance, if I'm having a larger meal, or my bg is high.

I didn't have a cookie after dinner.

Haven't had any since this afternoon.

I do feel bad.

In my opinion what i am going to say applies to people without the pump

as well.

As long as u are on a short acting insulin and u take it right after

you eat, you will be fine.

What i do is count carbs if i no them and if i don't i just give it my

best guess.

Just my two cents on the subject.

Hello, Becky,

I'm following this thread late. Rather than feeling bad, we mnight

think of this cookie-gobbling thing like a good day of shopping,

something that's great fun but which we can't do very often at all. I'm

trying to eat any goodies early in the day. I don't think it would make

much difference for people on insulin, but for those of us on

medication, it seems to keep the levels down a bit better.
