Guest guest
Does the apple cider vinegar work on killing worms without the iodine? What about a large does of the apple cider vinegar? My son's multivitamin has iodine in it and my DAN checked his blood levels for iodine and they were in a good range. yeah, only I only give the baby ( 17months) a drop a week, bc it made her nose so runny. I tried 2 drops on myself and became an unglued, emotionally unstable meanie almost immediately. Backed off that pretty quick.> >> > Hi all, I'm just a few weeks new to the group and was hearing so much about > > lugol's iodine / parasites I thought I'd try an experiment, am having amazing > > results! Guest guest
Hi Chrissy,Thank you for sharing your experiment and success with us.I have two questions. Do you give the mix first thing in the morning or anytime during the day?My son is horrible with apple and carrot juice but he can take the apple cider vinager diluted in water and honey. What do you think, is this going to be as effective? Thanks,Mimoza Hi all, I'm just a few weeks new to the group and was hearing so much about lugol's iodine / parasites I thought I'd try an experiment, am having amazing results! Here's my simple/stupid recipe for wormies galore - 1 drop lugols 2%iodine1tsp organic apple cider vinegar2 carrots and an appleI started giving this to my 3yr old once a day three days ago and you would not believe what is coming out of the poor child. At least 7 different kinds of worms, and thousands of them. I know it's horrifying, but I am so excited at this simple new way to help him! I traveled extensively to third world countries while growing up, so although I'm loathe to think about it, I'm sure I'd better start my own protocol. It tastes delicious , really good . Guest guest
sounds good to me ! I only concocted the juice as a way to make the ACV more palatable, but being a mean mommy I syringe it down his throat either way....methods of my madness. I'm sure it doesn't matter when you give it or what you give it in, but check in with the group experts on 'bugs' if you are really worried about it. > > > > > > > Hi all, I'm just a few weeks new to the group and was hearing so much about > > lugol's iodine / parasites I thought I'd try an experiment, am having > > amazing results! Guest guest
I say we stick with it - I like being able to say, ' Jeff honey, I am not being a wench, I am DETOXING. No iodine equals no excuse. Haha. > > > > > > Hi all, I'm just a few weeks new to the group and was hearing so much about > > > lugol's iodine / parasites I thought I'd try an experiment, am having amazing > > > results! Guest guest
I say stick with it. I hate to take away your excuse, tho you can keep using it they dont have to know its not as bad as it is or was If you are in the first 2 weeks, it gets better. Lots better. The runny nose is common in those first 2 weeks, It goes away. If you are screaming, your adrenals are screaming! The natural salt if very important to the adrenals. If you are experiecing symptoms you need to look at your companion supplements and make sure you are taking enough of them. If you are getting adrenal symptoms with 1 drop then you are most likely thyroid imbalanced and have probably been that way for a while. Which also means your adrenals are fatigued or close to it. Thyroid and adrenals just go together. People try to seperate them and their symptoms but it just really isnt possible. So, if you are feeling bad, first look at companion supps. If increasing your salt doesnt eliminate the symptoms(and it usually does) increase Mag, if you still have them, increase C. You might even increase the iodine, cause more is usually better when detoxing the body. If after doing that you still scream and are irritable you may need Rx Natural Thyroid Replacement Hormone(never use synthetic) and/or things to help the adrenals heal. There are combos available designed to help the adrenals and rebuild damaged tissue. Rhodiola Rosea is very good, Adrenal Cortex. Hydrocortisone(Rx) might be needed for the really damaged tho should only be used short term as it encourages the adrenals to not work as hard, a good thing while healing, a not good thing if you want the adrenals to work instead of a drug. If you are feeling liver related detox symptoms, or skin breakouts, you may need liver support. Inositol, milk thistle. Blood levels of iodine is not a reliable test or indication of body sufficiency. It's a pee test. So you dont have to feel totally miserable to detox. In fact it is enouraged to not feel that way and why the companion supplments are so important. So if you are feeling edgy and angry, drink some natural salt water. You might just be amazed. Guest guest
Is the iodine safe to take while pregnant? I'm currently 18 wks and curious to see if this is something I should start now, or wait until after baby comes.
Guest guest
Yes Iodine is safe to take while pregnant. That doesnt mean i would take it. Dr. Brownstein recommends pregnant women to take 12.5mg per day. There are some pregnant women on the Iodine board taking it, tho not sure what dosages. I would probably be cautious taking it. If you are a healthy person you and the baby would likely benefit. If you have any kind of illness or auto-immune issues, viral issues, metals, fungus, bacteria, then it's possible that the die off and detox might cause too much hormonal imbalance or cause too much liver distress. My own opinion. It might not. I do think much of the problems in our children start with iodine deficiency. If i knew then what i know now, well, i would probably have taken it. Each individual would have to decide based on their issues/situation and/or discuss it with a knowledgable doctor. A regular doctor, seeing a patient with goiter or severe thyroid issues and pregnant would most likely Rx iodine supplement. Or Armour. Most prenatal vitamins have iodine now (very low mcg dosage). Many natural docs are using iodine with pregnant patients. I would study, think about using the Low Oxalate Diet. That would be an easy(ish) thing to implement to increase iodine utlization in the body and lower oxalates. Iodine is in breast milk. The breast need iodine to make it, too. So the baby would get some with breastfeeding. Cheryl > > Is the iodine safe to take while pregnant? Guest guest
thanks cheryl...your email convinced me to stay with it and got back on the iodine today. i was really around that 2 week mark anyway so hoping things will get better soon. don't know if my marriage will survive my mood swings on this iodine detox but, will try all your suggestions and hope my husband and kids can put up with me in the meantime. Guest guest
For me, serious mood swings are caused by strep or bartonella. The bartonella mood swings usually last only a few minutes and I will say something mean really quickly, but I don't harbor anger in another few minutes. This typically happens for me when I am on augmenting treating strep, then the bartonella pops up. The strep mood swing is more like a wild rage and the emotions can last for an hour and I would be on edge for days. I tend to get this worst when I am treating bartonella (zithromax + rifampin and/or Zhang's HH). Several lyme practitioners feel the strep is a coinfection to bartonella and both need to be eridicated to eliminate either one. I am holding steady on augmentin while doing my whole worm protocol (I take what my son takes a little ahead of him). I plan to add back a bartonella protocol once we are on maintenance with worms.
