Guest guest
Yeah laura, that may help u better. I was on actos and an old med called ameril in the past and they did me no good, that is why i had to start insulin. I started with vile and seringe but went to pens then the pump. I like the pens and the pump better. So if u have to have insulin I would suggest the pen. Later hugs scott Original message: > Hi , I just have two pills per day so far. Guest guest
The weird thing is we have 3 bottles of Novalog in the refrigerator that had but after the first month or so he was holding his own so much he stopped taking the insulin. I probably need it. I guess I would have to get one of those Count-A-Dose things to be able to use it. I would prefer the pen. But I have to wait until the doctor decides. Guest guest
Gee, , Regular soda has about 545 grams of carbs in it. That is like eating 3 pieces of bread. Even if you are low, that is too many carbs to drink. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Sent: Saturday, April 07, 2012 7:23 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: Hope this encourages some. Hey Dave. Before I was a diabetic i only drank soda with sugar in it and i could not stand diet pepsi. When i became insulin dependent though i automatically suddenly one day found myself drinking a diet pepsi. I do not drink diet pop in moderation though to be honest. I do still however drink regular dr pepper. They say diet tastes the same as regular dr pepper but to me it doesn't at all. I try not to drink to much sugary soda though because I know even with them pump I have to be somewhat careful what i do. Ya understand wha i'm tryin ta say? later scott -- Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network. Visit www.serotek.com to learn more about accessibility anywhere. Guest guest
I prefer red (dark) grape juice. I'll drink a couple ounces of juice and 1 glucose tablet if I'm low enough to justify this regime. IF you have kidney issues (my creatine clearance is above normal) as many diabetics do, or have the potential to be, you might want to watch citric acid products like orange juice. Guest guest
Hello. I really can not tell u as i got it from a blindness agency for free along with some other adaptive things several years ago. If i find the actual countadose i will find instructions online somewhere and give them to u via email as i do not use a braille printer. And also we don't have a print printer here yet either. later 73 and 88s scott -- Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network. Guest guest
Well my kidney trouble is not from my diabetes. My creatanin is like 1.2 last time they drew one. Guest guest
It is okay to eat a small amount of pasta and rice. If you are not able to eat only small amounts, then it is better to not eat it at all. Always do a BG about 2 hours after eating those foods-and the same goes with eating cookies, cake etc. You will then know how that amount of food affects you. After all, no one else has to know what your test results are, but you will know and then you will know how to decide if those food choices come up the next time. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Lora Leggett Sent: Friday, April 06, 2012 7:58 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: Hope this encourages some. I thought I heard that pasta and rice were kind of no-no for us but yet when I read these diabetic cookbooks they have recipes with them and they even have recipes that use real sugar. The advice I read in the care sections sounds like what I have been hearing in here yet they actually put cookie recipes that use real sugar, say you can only have one and that you can even make smaller cookies. They are more in favor of using a smaller amount of real sugar than using Splenda. Hope this encourages some. > I'm not the perfect role model for a type 1 diabetic. Guest guest
, You have to use a 30 unit BD (that is the brand) syringe. It is quite easy to use as the closed syringe fit into a clip and a slot. There is a wheel on the side that you roll up or down. It clicks as you move it and each click is one unit. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Lora Leggett Sent: Saturday, April 07, 2012 10:45 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: Hope this encourages some. Guest guest
Even if they are but are not the BD brand, they will not fit into the device. When I was using the device, my medication company sent me the wrong brand and I had a big fight with them over returns the brand they sent and then having them send me the BD brand-which my doctor had prescribed from the beginning. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Lora Leggett Sent: Saturday, April 07, 2012 9:32 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: Hope this encourages some.
