Guest guest
ok lets be honest with each other, however we can lie to our friends though if we wish. I got every spice known to man in my kitchen because I have been the cook in this family for a long long time. have tried adding spices that I use to never add to soup until lately. I love soup and I always have a big crock of soup always at all times in the fridge. I still miss the salt though. I do at weak times add a bit of salt from the shaker, but not always. my honey still digs salt and adds it to her food. she does say cooking with salt makes the food taste better then adding it after words and I do agree. It is going to take me a while to get pass liking salt on my food. I have got to the point of not adding more salt to things that I get when eating out. can eat eggs with out salt now. can't eat a cucumber yet though with out a bit of salt. tomatoes maybe half the time I add no salt, but a fresh tomatoes from the garden? well this is next to imposable. I use to add salt to my fresh salad, but have kicked this habit as well. don't have to worry with adding salt to my butter milk because I gave up the milk all the way around. so I am truly a work in progress still. I do plan to be there some day and I know I will be much better off when that day gets here. Guest guest
I don't use salt either, have not for years;however I do use many of spices or Mrs. dash at times. If I do use salt I cook very little with it for flavor if it calls for, but never do I add more after sugar " ...And this I pray... Guest guest
The " salt " I use is called 17 Spices made by Lawry's. There is no sodium in it, only spices, but is not as peppery as Mrs. Dash. The only place I can find it however, is Smart and Final. I don't know if this store is available all over. I tried to look it up on the Lawry's website, but it was not a blind friendly site. Maybe someone who is more computer savey than I can find it there. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Mark Ruth Sent: Monday, March 26, 2012 3:18 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: your opinion on cinnamon? ok lets be honest with each other, however we can lie to our friends though if we wish. Guest guest
I think this helps. I went for my first radation treatment and it went really well. I am not tired and only have 2 more to go. I was there for about an hour and a half. I was allowed to pray and the priest came with me. I was able to use the robot. during the procedure I sneezed and the robot said patient sneezed, recalculating. Betty Emmons your opinion on cinnamon? for the past 2 days my sugars are now running in the 90's. everything has been the same as it has been over the past 2 weeks plus for me. carb intake the same at all my meals, eat at the same times and one hour every day on the bike. the only thing different is I started taking 2 cinnamon pills in the morning and again in the evening. I have read and heard if you are watching your carb intake and exercising that cinnamon can as well help to control your blood sugar. I'm still on 20 units of a morning and 17 at dinner. the doc did say to fax my numbers in if they changed up or down from where they was last week. I'm thinking if they remain in the 90's for a few more days I will fax them in so he can see what is happening. I will let him know I started taking cinnamon, but as most docs will tell us it has no real proof of doing any good or not. I think it has made a difference because nothing else in my life has changed. I know other T 2's that eat right and take cinnamon and do well with keeping there A1C's down in the safe range. just wanted to know what you guys thought about cinnamon for helping to control blood sugar or is it just one more way to make money for us who believe it works?
