Guest guest
What do you mean instead of store-bought ones? Do you just buy herbs in bulk online, or grow them yourself? First, I want to say " HI " and thanks for your group. My DS was diagnosed only a few months ago, so I'm just now feeling like my head is coming up above the water again! You're info here is so much in line with my thinking - try everyting and let the body heal itself. I'm still looking over the old postings for more knowledge, but I've ordered the GAPS diet book and will be starting that soon. We've had great success already with MB12 shots. With that said, does anyone know of a DAN! doctor in the SE Michigan area who is ok with using herbal supplements instead of store-bought ones? Everytime I mention my herbal stuff (which I personally have had great success with), he gives me this wierd look. It thought me off the first time because DAN! medicine is not really main-stream, so I wrongly assumed that he would be more open-minded to other non-conventional methods. Thanks for all your great info! Diane -- Toni------Mind like a steel trap...Rusty and illegal in 37 states.
Guest guest
I am beginning to grow them myself, but I found a wonderful master herbalist who markets mostly to the Amish who sells wildcrafted herbs and also makes different herbal " recipies " based on the teaching of Dr. . I guess what I mean to say is that I think the herbal/ natural meds, with their natural vitamin and mineral content, are much easier for the body to absorb than a man-made tablet. For instance, I personally don't think the calcium mineral tablets sold most places have anywhere near the bioavailable calcium that is found in an herbal calcium mix. So I was just wondering is anyone had found a DAN! doctor who seemed open to using herbs instead of pills. Thanks, Diane
Guest guest
Hi Diane,I live in Turkey and we have all kinds of herbs here. There are places that sells them in bulks. You buy them and make teas out of them, ground them, whatever. They even put them in a capsule for you. However, you have to consume like tons of it to get the required amount of the active ingredient in it. You need the standardized ones . For instance, you need to know exactly what percentage of oleuropein does your OLE have. Even though I have all these herbs around me, I order standardized ones (extracts) from US just to make sure I am getting enough of the active ingredient. Best wishes Ayse
