Guest guest
Hey, Chrissy again, no gross news this time, BUT since starting the lugols iodine and the supps. my son is on I have instantly developed horrible eczema on my hands, I've never had this in my life. Three days ago my skin was perfect, now it is thick and scabby and cracking every time I move - what could this be and what should I do ? My thoughts were maybe it is some form of manifested die off ..... no clue, but I need some ideas at relief. Thanks for any input - Chrissy
Guest guest
It could be an oxalate dump... I think was on here saying that oxalate could inhibit iodine??? If so, then perhaps the iodine displaced some oxalate, your blood levels are higher in oxalate and then signs of eczema?? Purely speculation. Guest guest
Rashes are common after starting iodine. The oxalate dumping sounds plausible (still havent time to obsess on learning about oxalates!) I have had some fairly weird rashes, then they disappear and dont come back. I think it's stuff oozzing up from just beneath the skin but also can be a sign the liver is clogged up and trying to detox too fast. Virus response. Just could be a number of things. I would ask the Iodine Group, since i havent experienced any eczema, or hand rashes, and there may be someone there that has had this same thing happen. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iodine/ I would probably also dilute a few drops of iodine in water and wash the rash with it. If you get any kind of infection within a rash Tea Tree Oil is good. Followed by coconut oil. Coconut oil is the best thing for skin. And the body soaks up all the good stuff in it. I have had rashes over my ankles where i had arthritis (gone after the rash). I had a rash 2 to 3 times under my breasts (fairly common). I had a rash on my chest. That one was fairly weird.Like a combo of Pox and heat rash. I had the Bromide acne for 2 weeks. Those were all in the first 6 months. I havent had any in a long time. has had some pock like, boilish eruptions but no rashes. People do describe strange rashes some. Which tend to come then go not to return. If the rash doesnt resolve in a few days I would probably look at the amount of iodine, mag and salt you are taking, first increasing the mag and salt. Depending on how much iodine you started with, you may need more. Or less. Guest guest
When I started iodine (Lugols 2%) I could not handle more than 1 drop per gallon of water. It made me fluish at higher doses.
