Guest guest
Mike, My doctor in Boston has not recommended Rituxan, but he really would like me to try Zenapax. They are both monoclonal antibodies that selectively target areas of the immune system that are " having problems. " Unfortunately my insurance will not cover Zenapax because they still consider it experimental therapy for my eye problems. I am hopeful that the clinical trials that are being conducted by the NIH will soon allow these drugs to become mainline therapy. (And covered by insurance companies). Here's hoping!! Connie > Did anyone in the group who is more advanced in the disease check into taking Rituxan? > This is a new drug that is used for lymphoma- it kills off B- lymphocyte cells but when the B-cells come back, the T cells seem to be reprogrammed, sometimes permanently. > I hope someone in the group can talk their dr. into trying that for them, especially if they are really sick. It's worth a shot. > More later- MIke E.
