I miss him, too :(

I can't find the post left by someone who's kiddo had gotten into the Gummy Omega's, ate way too much, and ended up having the best day ever.   Anyhow, if you are that person and you happen to catch this, there is a man with autism who used to frequent this message board.  I remember him telling us that the way he was finally able to make head banging a thing of the past was with crazy  high doses of fish oil (I think it was CLO to be exact).  I don't know how much that info might help.  Just that you may have accidentally stumbled onto something.....

I miss .  I hope everything is good with him....

That would be me...who else could have such a thing happen to them?  ;PI had her on CLO and I gave the recommended amount, it was ok but no WOW like with the gummy incident.  I started her on flaxseed oil and I've been putting some in her juice and the nice, firm pointing is back but not the language spike.  Maybe I need to up it a bit more.

Sugar.  Causes IgG reactions and sugar's not SCD.

She can't have them because of IgG reactions to cane sugar.  The gummies contain cane sugar.

No D.  I think it''s definitely the EFAs.  I tried a different Omega 369 today but it's a no-go.  It had traces of olive oil -- like I mean, these are not big gelcaps and olive oil is the last ingredient and it still caused an IBS reaction.  Her system really HATES olive oil for some reason.  And she started to get the olive oil shiners under her eyes.  All the other kinds they had at the HFSs had soy.  I suppose I could just go with a flax oil.

It's weird, too, her little brother had a bit of the new Omega 369 with the olive oil and at about the same time as she had the runs, his face and ears just became flush right at that moment.  I think they're both seriously allergic to olive oil.

Tell him that I think mito issues are caused by parasites and this is where we

are talking about them.

Caryn,

Really? Mito issues and parasites? That would make sense in our case, please

elaborate. I'm going c-r-a-z-y waiting for our results and I need something else

to obsess about.

Thanks,

Parasites cause deficiencies in coQ10, vitamin B12, B vitamins overall and EFAs.

Poor muscle tone, gross motor/balance delays, waxy ears and poor receptive

language are caused by parasites. Actually, we have resolved all of these while

treating parasites.

Worms harbor bacteria, viruses and fungus. Most of our kids do well treating at

least 2 out of the 3 of these, yet can't beat them. Why, b/c it continues to

live in the worms?

Viruses deplete lysine and lysine is the precursor to carnitine.

That makes a lot of sense. My daughter (who we are treating for parasites, and seeing TONS coming out) is low tone, has waxy ears, gross motor issues (just jumped with 2 feet off the ground for the first time the other day at 3 1/2 years old). I thought she just figured out how to jump, but that's interesting. Maybe those damn worms wouldn't let her jump! I wonder if they cause cradle cap too. She still has it every now and then. Thanks for the great info. I'm hopeful that we will continue to see improvement.- Kirk-To: mb12 valtrex From: caryn_reid@...Date: Fri, 11 Mar 2011 13:37:58 +0000Subject: Re: Someone had a question about EFA's after Gummi incident

I gave her a prescription that the pediatrician called in for us (2 chewable pills spaced 2 weeks apart - she'll get her next dose this Tuesday). I think it's called mebendazole?? Something like that. In addition to that, I've been giving the apple cider vinegar with one drop of iodine (I started doing this every other day instead of every day b/c it seems to be causing diaper rash). I've also been letting her munch on pumpkin seeds as much as she wants b/c I've heard they help. I don't know if one thing is helping more than another or if it's the combo, but we are seeing lots of wormies from both girls. I don't know if you have called your pediatrician, but mine didn't even ask me to bring my girls in or give a sample or anything. He said worms are pretty common in young kids and just called in the prescription for us. My family dr then did the same for my husband and me - I thought it was going to be much more involved. Good luck!- Kirk-To: mb12 valtrex From: ilovekidsanddogs@...Date: Fri, 11 Mar 2011 13:54:29 +0000Subject: Re: Someone had a question about EFA's after Gummi incident

That's a fantastic explanation, Caryn!!!  I didn't know that lysine was needed for carnitine absorption.  Fan-freaking-tastic.  You just totally made my day in that I have a link from one thing to another because I get how carnitine relates to some of the methylators, just not how viruses affect it.  Thanks so much for making that clear!  I love it when people explain the process to help me get the bigger picture.

Parasites cause deficiencies in coQ10, vitamin B12, B vitamins overall and EFAs.

Poor muscle tone, gross motor/balance delays, waxy ears and poor receptive language are caused by parasites. Actually, we have resolved all of these while treating parasites.

Worms harbor bacteria, viruses and fungus. Most of our kids do well treating at least 2 out of the 3 of these, yet can't beat them. Why, b/c it continues to live in the worms?

Viruses deplete lysine and lysine is the precursor to carnitine.

YES! All scalp issues are parasites. Maybe some yeast. I used to get pimples

just above my neck in my hairline -- parasites.
