Guest guest
Joy, there's no set time that you will begin eating normally but you do know how long you ate abnormally. It won't be that long. . I had and still have to some degree, the same concerns you do but there's really not a lot you can do except try your very best to eat only when hungry and stop when your full. Listen really carefully to your body to get an idea of these signs. Lots of us had no idea how to tell when we first started but it comes to us. If you pay attention to the food and to your body while you eat, you will begin to notice when you feel pretty comfortable. So what if you get hungry again in a short while. Eat when you're physically hungry. Go ahead! There's no need to starve until you can have your next allowed and carefully planned meal or snack. You simply get to eat what you want, when you need to and stop when your comfortable. The past 2 days I have felt like I'm truly quite hungry all afternoon. What's up with that?? But I am listening and eating until I can make the hungry signs stop. I've finally gotten to a spot where though I'm not yet eating only when I'm hungry and I often have a little more than I probably need, I'm feeling so good and so free with my new relationship with food. I did gain a little in the beginning and it still upsets me when I let myself dwell on it. But now I'm staying the same and have for weeks. For me, that's real progress. I mean real progress. But I do understand the panic in your voice. I've been there and am not all that far from it still and many other people on this list understand too. Keep working on it...it's worth it. Sunny anxious about weight gain and if I will be able to make the transition I am worried about this change of mine to trying to be a natural eater. I have slipped up a bit, eating too much today, especially sweets and wanting more of them even as I am full. I'm afraid to gain a ton of weight though. When should I start eating normally? By normally, I mean smaller amounts of food. It seems like I just can't get enough. Thanks and blessings. ------------------------------------
