Guest guest
Jenna, bravo for you to eat what made you feel better. Even if you felt your 'head' was involved, the end results was that your body felt better. What could be more IE than that? Perhaps the guilt comes from feeling you aren't somehow 'doing IE right'?!? That sounds more like a judgmental 'gremlin' whispering in your head than the reality of your actions. When I get into such a mode I remind myself that IE is suggestions aimed at helping me guide myself 'back' to what I probably do know but short stop in practice. Simply saying 'Ahhhh' and choosing what feels best for me can get me back 'on track' with my IE journey. So happy 'detour' to you and maybe mute that gremlin's volume too. ehugs, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > > > So, I have a question for everyone. About a month ago I realized that I was doing a LOT of stress eating (finishing up masters and working full time) and I had a lot of work plus some crazy roomates I had to kick out my home... but anyway..... > > I started eating low carb-vegetarian. At first I really really craved white flour and sugar. I made some changes in how I eat increasing protein veggies, fruits, etc. And once the cravings left, I actually feel much much better. I feel my energy as more even and I feel more vibrant as well as stuff becoming looser, though weight wasnt the goal I just felt like my choices were being led by emotional/ stress related issues rather than that what my body needs. Im not hungry, I just shifted from donuts, cookies, carbs to nuts, more fruit veggies, more tofu, etc. > > But, I also feel guilty about it... like I am not following IE practices because it is a concious approach. But at the same time, I dont know... I feel better. So I guess I wanted to share that with everyone and see what you thought. I mean, if I had the thought, all the sudden, hey less carbs more protein more veggies, is that not also intuitive? How do we know if our thoughts are coming from within or being influenced by without? Because I am denying myself (though not all the time) certain things and I denied my cravings but now feel better for it. > > What do you think?
