Guest guest
My son used to have dilated pupils. After doing homeopathy( we used belladonna 6c) it went away. I honestly don't know if it was only the belladonna that helped with that because we were in like 15 different supplements at that time but I do remember that it didn't go away until I started using the homeopathic remedySent from my iPhone Hi Cheryl, I just posted about my daughters having dilated pupils almost constantly. Right after I posted, I googled 'dilated pupils in children' and one of the things that came up was 'iodine overdose.' I have been doing one drop per day of lugols 2%. Is it at all possible that this could be too much for them? I'll be honest - it kind of freaks me out. I realize the amount I'm giving them is extremely small, and the article I read did state that it is uncommon to overdose on iodine But it's odd that all of a sudden, they both have dilated pupils when the only thing I've really changed recently is adding the iodine. Just wanted to get your thoughts on this. Thanks.
Guest guest
,For what reason did you or your homeopathy specialist choose belladona? My son is on belladonna (1 drop a week LOL)for his presenting symptoms of febrile seizure and his " trapped " feelings. There are other things as well... just curious... and since this was chosen as our constitutional remedy... wondering how it helped your child. :-) My son used to have dilated pupils. Guest guest
This is sooo interesting because i have wanted to post and ask about dilated pupils and never did. I wondered if others have seen this. has had huge - always dilated pupils his entire life. Until a few days ago. And it comes at the same time that i increased his dosage. The first time i saw them normal. Ever. So i made it a point to look alot. And they arent dilated like they were. Still not pinpoints if you shine a light in them but not saucers anymore. I had thought the saucers were a PANDAS thing or perhaps neurotransmitter imbalance. Never have known the answer. Probably because doctors that are suppose to know (Neurolgist/Neuro Psych) told me it was part of autism and there have always been so many more seemingly more important problems that i never really studied it. Can you provide the link you found? When i google the same i dont find an iodine as a cause link. You may be getting a double whammy effect with both the Low Oxalate diet and adding iodine. Because i think what the LOD does is help the body utilize the iodine better. And get rid of oxalate, which also makes the body use the iodine better. Just like getting rid of Fluoride and Bromide makes the body use the iodine better. Just like removing goitrogen high foods makes the body utilize it better. So you have essentially added 2 areas that would increase the body's available iodine. I dont have enough experience with the LOD yet to know for sure, just want i am concluding. Still waiting for someone to say i have it wrong, if i do! So with all this additional iodine available you are going to have alot of die off. And the If you are concerned, lower the dosage or stop the iodine totally to see what happens. Are you using all the companion supplements including natural salt? And it still freaks me out a bit. We read the inaccurate and unfounded information that scares us and makes us question our judgement. Rest assured there are alot of people been using it for years and using it with their kids. Some Dans! are now using it. The real truth is coming out, but there is still alot of misinformation. Same with most biomed. Guest guest
Another possibility for constant dilated pupils is viral overload. My naturopath (who is an herbalist, DAN and does iridology) told me that my son's pupils being overly dilated was due high viral loads in his frontal lobe of the brain and his tailbone area. Guest guest
Our homeopath (vega Rozenberg) choose the belladonna based on answers . Dislike of milk, love of lemon, rage, fevers etcAccording to him my son was in a belladonna stage and he believes the antibiotics he once in his life took( that he ended up being allergic to are what "damaged" him the results of the belladonna were pretty fast. Two days after taking it they said at school that these were the best two days he had ever had. He became less aggressive and more here with us. To be honest with you I only stopped it out of laziness if that's what you want to call it. It just got to a point that I was doing so much with him (20 supplements, homeopathy, aba, OT, pt, sp and music therapy) that one day I just decided to stop everything as far as supplements. I am now doing a reintroduce of supplements little by little and he is now doing better then ever before.Sent from my iPhone ,For what reason did you or your homeopathy specialist choose belladona? Guest guest
Toni, are you kidding me? Here's the damndest thing: I took Tom to baseball tryouts yesterday morning. this is his third year playing (he loves it) but because he's 8 now, he had to try out (everybody makes it, they just try to "even out" the teams). So we got there, checked in, got his number and everything was fine. He looked across the gym where the other kids were (many familiar faces from school and sports) and he BUGGED. Fight or flight kicked in and little dude was ready to jet on me. I haven't seen this in months. I pulled him aside to a discreet place and was trying to talk him through it. He started crying and saying "I gotta get out of here. I feel trapped! I'm just trapped! You're pushing me down into the ground (??)" I was stunned. (and if my heart wasn't breaking for him, I probably would've jumped for joy because he normally doesn't say things like that.) Does your little guy say things like that often? I wish Tom had the ability to explain to me how those things feel to him....-Tammy To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Sun, February 27, 2011 8:17:06 PMSubject: Re: Question for Cheryl ,For what reason did you or your homeopathy specialist choose belladona? Guest guest
I don't know if this will help you guys or not. But my guy, too, gets dilated pupils from time to time. It's not constant, but every now and then it'll happen. we don't use iodine(yet), and this was happeneing way before biomed or diets. It's just something that's always kind of been there from time to time. we can all be in a room together and everybody's else's pupils will be completely normal and his will be enormous.hm....-tammy To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Sun, February 27, 2011 8:34:20 PMSubject: Re: Question for Cheryl This is sooo interesting because i have wanted to post and ask about dilated pupils and never did. Guest guest
Poor little guy is literally stuck between two worlds. He's been asking alot lately why his little bro is "smarter than him". It kills me. The good news is: he did it! Once he put on the batting helmet and picked up the bat, he was just fine. It was so hard not to take him out of there when I saw the panic in his eyes. But come April when bball season starts, I know he would have been so mad at himself for not doing it. At one point, one of the coaches came over and told me it was ok, he didn't have to try out. But me, being wicked witch of the west told him yes, absolutely he does have to just like everyone else. I don't think he's mad about it now. lol. - Tammy To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Sun, February 27, 2011 11:18:19 PMSubject: Re: Question for Cheryl Oh Tammy...you're poor little dude...what an awful feeling. Guest guest
I think dilated pupils have something to do w/ adrenal fatigue. I tried to do the iodine protocol but since I have adrenal fatigue I had to cool out a bit. I had more energy on it for sure but I started gaining weight like crazy. I think you have to get the adrenals going a bit, add in the supplemental items (magnesium, selenium etc..) and then go slow w/ the iodine. I am not an expert by any means but that is what I gathered off the iodine/thyroid/adrenal groups. Do some research on it, that's about all I can tell you right off hand. But no I dont think it's toxicity, maybe just poor utilization??? > > > > > Hi Cheryl, > > > > > > I just posted about my daughters having dilated pupils almost constantly. > >Right after I posted, I googled 'dilated pupils in children' and one of the > >things that came up was 'iodine overdose.'
