Guest guest
Maia's doing this weird thing and I see her getting into these " loops " sometimes. She'll spend a few days watching a video logo over and over again. She liked two logos in particular today. Today it was the TreehouseTV logo and the Nevada (the logo on kids shows with the polar bear). She kept re-starting the video just to watch this part over and over again. She did other things during the day but just really liked these logos. I've noticed that when she has computer access, she looks for these logos sometimes, too, and spends an entire day re-playing the same video logos. I'm not really sure that I would call it an OCD because it sticks around for a day (sometimes a few hours) and then she's done and doesn't want to see that logo anymore. When she has computer access, she'll slow these down, speed them up, to see them at different speeds. She'll be on Youtube playing the logo at different speeds, at different sizes, change the screen resolution to see them at different sizes, go to different zoom settings in the browser and go through different speeds again at various zooms. She hasn't had computer access in over two months because she blew one motherboard, I replaced it and then she melted her chip. So now, she's wanting to do this again, so she does it with the DVD player. I'm not running out to replace it at this point (her dad is antsy to have it replaced but I'm not) because I find that she communicates more when she doesn't have a computer -- computers make her kind of self-isolating and all she'll want to do all day is to surf the net. What causes this behavior? Is this yeast?
Guest guest
i think its streph PANDAS our son does it too,we did a 3 month course of zithromax last year and it all but stopped, but he has started again so had bloods taken last week,it def causes OCD,our son gets onto youtube and finds the logos i havent a clue how he does this,he is non verbal but i believe he can read,a bit of a maverick mind.i would check for PANDAs Maia's doing this weird thing and I see her getting into these " loops " sometimes. Guest guest
I'm going to bring this up with our DAN. She has that same nasal thing that my dad used to have. Kind of sounds a bit like a nasal tic like she's constantly trying to clear her nose. Could be a cold, but maybe also strep. It seems to be going on for a bit. PANDAS did cross my mind but it wasn't lasting long enough for me to think it was OCD. She can still be re-directed at this point. She even got to a part of the day where she felt like going to her room and listening to music but she had to come back out every few minutes to bring the video back to the logo. I had started up the lysine again and doing OLE and I thought maybe that was kicking up yeast. i think its streph PANDAS our son does it too,we did a 3 month course of zithromax last year and it all but stopped, but he has started again so had bloods taken last week,it def causes OCD,our son gets onto youtube and finds the logos i havent a clue how he does this,he is non verbal but i believe he can read,a bit of a maverick mind.i would check for PANDAs Maia's doing this weird thing and I see her getting into these " loops " sometimes. Guest guest
Could be PANDAS. Go to the site www.pandasnetwork.org to find the symptoms and treatments. Keep in mind that only 50% of PANDAS kids will have a positive ASO?DNASE titer . You need to treat for it based on symptoms and it's very hard to find a doc that will help you. Guest guest
Our DAN's pretty good and open-minded about treating things with prescriptions. I'm going to start there. Could be PANDAS.
