Guest guest
Hi, Has anyone used these? Its says there is no Strep in Ther-Biotic, and wondered how your children responded to them. My son has been on it for 2 days, he started taking Biocidin at the same time. Havent really seen anything new as yet except, he keeps using the TV remote to rewind programmes (over & over)?? Also on Ther-Biotic it says it is used for Infants upto 2 and my son in 3yrs 8months should I add more to his dosage? My son is due to start Valtrex in 2 weeks, which Im quite nervous about. Thanks for being such a caring group. Any advice is truly appreciated. God Bless Sophie New Bio Mum
Guest guest
Hi Sophie. I have not tried the Thera biotic.I have tried Biocidin and valtrex. My son consistently responds negatively to most meds or naturals. The only meds he hasn't responded negatively is valtrex. He is with us now (in his heart and head). The Biocidin on the other hand caused such a negative reaction(after the smallest pieces, one a day for 3 days) that it took about a month to get back on track of being his normal halfway normal self. Its interesting how opposites our children can be.My son is 11 .He started valtrex about 5 months ago.Immediately he started to gain weight. He has gained about 15 pounds now with no fat or puffed up look like he used to be. Guest guest
I have used and like very much the Therabiotic Infant probiotic. I used it on everyone...Sam (my 8 month old) is currently on it. (He is NT, gaining and meeting all milestones, etc.) When Maddie was on it (my 2 yr old, NT, allergy child) she did extremely well on it. I tend to change up my probiotics, so she isn't on it currently. Jimmy and Rob were both on it. There was no negative reactions. For Jimmy and Rob (and Maddie now) I use Syntol and Culturelle, along with fermented foods. It seemed to have quell our yeast issues. Also, since your child is a little older - try some fermented foods. CocoKefir is an option (or you can make your own). I make Kim Chi, and my kids like it a lot. It's an aquired taste I think, but it's good. :)laura > > Hi Sophie. Guest guest
Thanks for replying Tammy,I appreciate your comments. As I am so new to the bio treatmenst I just wonder how quickly these supplements etc get into our little ones systems, are they supposed to work straight away? Im constantly looking at my son to see any changes. Are all supplements and probiotics supposed to work straight away? Thanks again Sophie > > Hi Sophie. Guest guest
Hey Sophie, Glad you asked! YES! In one of my 4 breastfeeding books - when a child is born (naturally) they get a 'gulp' (they call it the 'something' gulp) coming out of the womb - this 'gulp' contains the much needed probiotics the child needs. It's like the 'seed' for the intestional colony that needs to develop. My guess (and it's just a guess!) is that the reason that some kids start to have gut issues is that - 1. they don't get the 'gulp' or 2. they get a gulp and it's doesn't contain the right things, quite possibly the wrong things and/or 3. The Mom unwittingly starts them on food -- and the baby cannot process it, due to the lack of proper microbes, etc. which starts this gut crap. (and some foods the baby even with good microbes cannot process it due to an immature digestive tract) 4. The Mom doesn't/cannot breastfeed (for whatever reason) and the child doesn't get the microbes thru that either. Nor does the child get the immunity that the Mom gives. So, we *think* we are feeding our children the right things, with lots of nutrition, but it's sabotaged due to,well, lots of variables. I do think age has something to do with it. (as I had more time to abuse my body than a 17 year old) I am an older Mom, I abused my body quite well prior to getting prego, and then I was great in terms of my diet and eating, but I didn't do enough, and I didn't understand that just because you can eat spinach, doesn't mean that I can or that it's even good for me. Because you know, spinach is great for you, except when you have leaky gut. " Milk does a body good " -- which only if you can process it -- and then even that is questionable, as the processed milk is dead in so many ways! I don't think I had a great gut when my kids came out. I had to come to terms with my own health -- and then I had to change my understanding of nutrition as I knew it, and how it's absorbed, etc. When it came to understanding the yeast issue, and how the gut is a balance, and it needs to be balanced -- I started to understand how to get what I needed. This changed a great deal for me and my children. When I decided to put Sam on a probiotic, it was only to supplement what I was already doing. I take probiotics myself, and when he gets rice cereal, he gets it in that too. (I use Happy Bellies Rice Cereal with probiotics) I hope this helps... :)laura > > > > > > Hi Sophie. Guest guest
Hi thank you so much for answering my post, and in such great detail as well. I need as much advice and help as I possibly can get as I am just at the very beginning of my sons bio journey, we literally found out about it in Jan 11. Also we live in England so no many people here know about the biomedical treatment and DAN so I will also be able to share with other mums (and dads) my experiences. Once again thank you so much for taking the time to respond. Kind Regards Sophie > > > > > > > > Hi Sophie.
