Guest guest
Thank you! Doesn't sound like a small market to me! Diabetes and blindness The subject of blindness due to diabetes has come up. Diabetes is the number one reason for aquired blindness in n. america. 12000 TO 24000 people a year lose their sight due to diabetes. 4.4 million people over 40 are blind due to diabetes. Guest guest
I think the research is from Dan. Thanks Dan, for getting the facts. I still content, however, we are a small group. 4 million sounds large, but it's only about 1% of the US population. I'd like to see the findings in a little closer detail. Sure, there may be 4 million blind diabetics, but how is blindness defined? And, of this population, what percentage are monitoring their diabetes and managing it? This is after all, the market the manufacturers are interested in.
