Guest guest
Dehydration is the main thing that I can think of.Subject: What does a dark pee indicate? To: mb12 valtrex Date: Wednesday, March 16, 2011, 9:38 AM DS has been having a really dark pee (almost brown) recently. I didn't notice it as much until I was collecting the sample for UTM test. What does it indicate? We recently started homeopathy with Pierre. Additionally, he showed slightly high vit. D about 2-3 months ago. After that I've reduced his supplementation. It's almost the color of iced tea. What does it potentially indicate? Best regards, Arpita. Guest guest
Hi. I am a nurse and if there is one thing I know about it is pee/poop!!!!! Dark brown or tea colored urine can be an indication of many, many things. It could be caused by what you are drinking, certain foods can cause discoloration of the urine, supplements, prescription medications, dehydration would usually cause a dark amber/concentrated type urine. It could also be something more serious like a kidney or liver issue or other physical condition. It could range from a very mild issue to a very serious issue. If I were you and it persists, I would take him to the doctor and ask for a urinalysis/culture & sensitivity (UA/C & S) and whatever else the doc may recommend. I wouldn't panic, but if it persists I wouldn't let it go either. Hope this helps a little. Good Luck. Re: What does a dark pee indicate? I would get his kidney function checked. Guest guest
The only time I had dark brown pee was when I had a week long gall bladder attack (worst week of my life!) Guest guest
I totally agree. WE had this problem with my son. They checked for an infection, did kidney function test and found that he was not getting enough hydration. We had to largely increase his fluids during the day and now, a few months later, it is fine! Re: What does a dark pee indicate? I would get his kidney function checked. Guest guest
Hi, dark urine means that the body is dehydrated and the kidneys are having to overwork producing the dark colored urine.. Urine should be the color of lemonade, if it is not, this means you should be drinking more water each day. Always look when using the bathroom for you or your child.. Your body is always trying to teach you something . Enjoy your water and I hope this information helps you. Take care. Corinne From: mb12 valtrex [mailto:mb12 valtrex ] On Behalf Of isagargo@... Guest guest
When my daughter had dark brown pee it was a urinary tract infection. She had no other symptoms. No pain when going. No fever. By the time we went to the doctor the test showed significant puss and blood in urine and we needed antibiotic to kill infection. She's never had one before and never had one since.
