Guest guest
Thanks everyone for their response about my latest visit. Jane, I am a HUGE exerciser, but I guess you just cannot prevent the frbrosis, can you? I still can do 40 minutes at 1.6 on 8L continuous flow & not drop below 90%. The supply company man hooked up two tanks for me last week until I could get to the doctor & have them upgrade my oxygen. I've been to rehab all the time previous to this latest illness. Dr at Vanderbilt in May said I was too ill to go anymore. BUT I still do the treadmill at home 5-6 times per week & lift hand weights. I got a phone call from Apria yesterday saying they got the order but they have to order my Companion T High Flow portable & exchange my other liquid tanks for higher flow ones. It would take a few days. Until then I continue to be careful. I haven't gotten any worse than this spring, so really needed more oxygen then. Why I didn't just ask before for more oxygen, I have NO idea. Perhaps Prednisone " brain fog " or denial or whatever, but I never even gave it a thought until a couple of weeks ago. I just thought I would get better & could then get by on the 6 liters like before. Silly me! So take note others!! Another question I do have is why didn't doctors ASK ME if I was getting enough oxygen OR even give me a 6 minute walk test last spring? My primary care doc upgraded me to the one I now have in May, but only after I asked him & he never gave me any 6 minute walk test to see if it would be sufficient. I have no answers. How could you just trust a sick person? Makes one wonder, doesn't it? Vicky, I love the photos of Leanne & you during her visit. Thanks for posting, Vicky.
