My name is Dottie, I am 63 and have OA, RA, Lupus, and a few other things.

Diagnosed with lupus in 2005, OA, about 10 years before that, and RA in 2009

The Rheumatologist has me on Methotrexate for the RA. It was doing fairly

well until last week when my left thumb started really paining me.

I have been on Diclofenac Sod. (Voltaren) for about 5-6 years for the OA and

it was helping me. Then the Rheumatologist told me he wanted me to try to

reduce this because of the possible liver damage it could bring in long term

use. I weaned myself down to one pill a day, then I was able to go one whole

week without any pills. I really think I should have just stayed on them

because this week without brought on much more pains. Coincidence? Maybe.

He did give me a sample of the Voltaren gel, which I used and like, but

financial problems and the need to reduce my health insurance to something I

can afford has me now without prescription coverage until November. I was

paying $616.00 a month and just could not do it anymore. With this VERY

basic one I am down to $312. A month. Voltaren gel costs $150.00 a tube here

in NJ.
