Guest guest
hi Becky well, I have been useing almond flour. I get it at my " whole foods " store, or at another store called, " fresh and easy " I don't use it alot. I have lost over 75lbs in the past year in a half and I need to say this... everyone is different, with different needs, etc... I am both a kidney and pancreas transplant, on anti rejection meds, taking metformin(this has assisted me with the loss of weight) and I have gone back to my " eating habits " this is what I am doing, what I have done to loose weight: I swim every morning when possible, I eat no flour, anything white, and no sugar what soever(except for a few splendas for coffee) for the first 4 months of my " change of eating) i stayed away from everything mentioned above, including the splenda, and stuck to nothing but veggies, almost a veggie diet... I did have some chicken(grilled) fish)grilled) fresh veggies, no process meats and no dressings whatsoever plenty of nuts like almonds, pistachios, and other nuts(I stayed away from plane peanuts) alot of greens, like salads, and some cheese on them. " activia " yogurt, fiber bars or powder(the ones you can sprinkle on your foods) and loads of water. under my nutritionist, of course. my key was to loose the weight, to keep me away from crossing that line on becaomeing type II,since I use to be a type 1 on humilog and lantis for a long time. so from 2hundred something, I am now a 130 and happy, but got about 10 more lbs to go for my ideal weight... again, every individual is different, and what works for me, may not work for anyone else, because even though we are all in this together, we all have different needs, and each individual " body " requires something different. so good luck with everything, and I have learned alot on this group as well. Thanks Dave for being so supportive, and to as well, and everyone else who has more knowledge than I and the openess there is to share and learn. ok, I'll go back to my corner now..smile sugar " Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe. -- Philippians 2:14-15 " ~Be Blessed, Sugar Breakfast foods > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi All, > > > > > > What type of cereal do people like to eat that works well into their > > > diabetic plans?
