I consider myself an alcoholic, yet I know damn well I could walk into a bar and have one drink and walk away. I could probably do that for several months, just to " prove " something to myself. But eventually I'd be back to binges and blackouts. Matter of fact, the last time I started drinking again, after about 14 years of abstinence, that is exactly what happened.
