Mark, right on! Listening rather than talking, is a good thing! Our body

is talking to us all of the time, and we would do well to listen! Ignoring

messages does not make the problem go away, only get worse!

being in touch with your body and listening to

it.

you know all these past 5 years since the heart problems started, I hear a

lot from doctors, nurses and friends how I listen to my body and what it is

telling me. they say this is why if I think there could be a problem I go in

and get it checked as soon as I can. some times it is nothing and other

times it was a good thing that I went to the hospital. didn't have to go any

where last night, but went to bed at eight as normal, but for the life of me

I couldn't sleep. was tired, but no sleep was coming my way. started feeling

funny. heart rate was fine and nothing other then my heart beet was harder

then it normally is and I just didn't feel right with my body. now I bring

my meter to bed with me, so I got up and took my sugar just to know where it

was. when I went to bed at eight it was 86 which is still ok, but when I

took it the meter said it was 64. I didn't believe it and took it again. the

second time it was 86. of course I took it the third time because I'm simply

a non believer in my meter when it jumps around in this kind of a way. the

third time it said 72. so I excepted the 72 simply because it was in the

middle of the 3 test and ate half of an orange. I did start feeling normal

again in about 30 minutes and finally went to sleep around midnight. this

morning just a bit ago the sugar is 102 and this is right where the morning

has been running now for about ten days. I'm thinking the reason why my

meter had 3 ranges of numbers from the 60's through the 80's was do to not

enough blood on the strip. I can all most tell every time by how long it

takes to get blood in the strip and not only that, the beep it makes when it

starts to test never is as loud as it is when you get a good sample. not a

good sample on the strip to me seems like a weak beep, but stronger when it

is plenty. Now I know I could be all full of nonsense here, but it really

does in my case seem to be the case. after I ate that half of an orange

around 11-15 pm I felt better 30 later. can't really lay my finger on how I

felt bad, but I simply was feeling out of sorts. I didn't seem to feel shaky

until after I took my sugar, so this here might only prove that it was in my

mind. some times we will feel grate and think everything is fine. then the

nurse will tell us our sugar or our bp is way to high, so then we start

feeling really bad! the power of suggestion can be very strong in our life.

so from this day forward, if my sugar is in the 80's when I go to bed I plan

to eat a little something so I don't have it drop any lower. the fact that

some say tight control for us who got heart issues may not be the best thing

to do. well it kind of bothers me when my sugar goes lower then 80. maybe

again this is nothing more then my mind over reacting to a fear of mine, but

every time it is lower then the 80's I do feel funny and as well it seems

like my heart is beating harder, not faster, but harder then normal. so all

worked out good and once again I learn one more thing important about my

body. I say never ignore the signs that your body is trying to tell you. if

you don't feel like normal then check it out and do what you can to see if

it makes you feel better. going to sleep with a peaceful mind is probably

more then half the battle.
