Guest guest
I wonder why then do we always hear that sugar more then 160 is destroying our organs? then we hear from the other side that us who are heart patients shouldn't have such tight sugar control because it will also damage the heart more. so which side is correct? I have always heard on this list and I believe it is so to stay between 100 and 120 2 hours after eating and you won't have any issues do to bad diabetes control. seems like you can hear either side of an issue and then pick out which will fit your personal needs the best. to crazy I say! Re: evening shot lowered to 17 from 20 units. My indocrinologist is quite happy for me to have a glr between 80 and 180. My bedtime glr's usually run somewhere 200 up to 250, while my fasting glr's usually run around160 or so, which I think is too high, but my indocrinologist has not commented on these lately. Guest guest
Yes, Mark, but studies have paroven that older people (over55) who have heart conditions have a higher chanch of more heart problems if they have too many low BGs. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Mark Ruth Sent: Thursday, March 15, 2012 9:09 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: Re: evening shot lowered to 17 from 20 units. Guest guest
Probably because she/he is comparing your results to the rest of her/his patient base. I know for a fact I am one of my doctor's best controlled diabetic patients (if not the best), and I know from talking to her, she would be happy if many of her other patients could do half as good as I'm doing. Guest guest
well he did say a guy my size with a A1C of 12 should be on 50 units twice a day, but he did say if I was eating right and counting my cargbs with exercise, then he started me out at 20 twice a day, but my sister said you could read in his face that he wasn't a believer in what I was telling him. maybe when I go see him again in April my A1C will be down a bit in only one month and maybe in time he may take me off 1000 mg of met Forman twice daily. I suppose we wait and see. Re: evening shot lowered to 17 from 20 units. My indocrinologist is quite happy for me to have a glr between 80 and 180.
