Last month I did high dose vit a two days (no maintenance dose) and a couple days after doing this, my daughter broke out with just ONE pock mark... like a chicken pock. It never got encrusted or turned into anything.

This month I did it again, both kids (since my daughter did not have the maintenance dosing all month, I was told this was safe)and my SON (only) broke out with TWO pocks on his face. Two whiteheads, yes look like initial chicken pocks but not red, not encrusting... seem to be reabsorbing into his skin like his sister's did. These look JUST like what my son was born with all over his body, that I was told were " just baby acne. " Hmmm.

Interestingly enough, my mom (who sees them/has contact everyday) has a cold sore and eye infection/stye that JUST broke out.So while I know Vit A is supposed to only be effective against measles, I find it interesting that both kids broke out with the same " pock " symptom within two days of the high dose.

I'm out of vit a now so I won't be doing the maintenance dose again. Doh.PS My kids play GREAT together when I give anything about 25,000 IU of vit a daily. I mean, back and forth sharing, conversations, etc. It's awesome, interesting, amazing.

Okay I got my Kirkman's Mycelized Vit A yesterday. I think we're gonna do it this weekend. Then next weekend we start TD DMSA for chelation!!

Malachi's visual stims have been pretty bad and yesterday we read a book and he is getting his " m " and " w " backwards in addition to turning his toys upside down.

we also reduced some high OXALATE foods he's been eating and I read a suggestion that if the main source of Vitamin A is coming from Cod Liver Oil (which it is) AND the child has poor fat digestion/absorption (which he does) then the undigested fats can add to a OX problem.

Excited and scared at the same time!! If you have a vit A story please share!
