Guest guest
, thanks for the information. I go see my surgeon today (can't wait!) to see what he says. I am sorry it seems you were in pain early on. Even though it is not the same, I had emergency gall stone surgery about 4 years ago. I thought I was going to die! It was a lap procedure. Most people are in and out of the hospital the same day. Not me. I went to the emergency room on Thursday morning, my surgery was Friday morning, and I did not check out until Monday. They had trouble removing the gall stones because they were so packed in. They said they had to use a condom (I suppose someone had one handy!) to pull the stones out. There were times with that that it hurt to breathe. Thanks, again! But then another surgeon joined the practice who did perform Lap RNY and said I was a great candidate (no co-morbidities), so both surgeons performed my Lap RNY surgery together. > > How long did you stay in the hospital? > > Surgery was on Wednesday morning and I checked out Saturday morning. > > Was recovery difficult? > > It was for me. Two weeks after my surgery, I was readmitted to the hospital for pancreatitis. I was in the hospital for an additional 2 weeks. The pancreatitis made it impossible for me to eat or drink anything which resulted in a feeding line in my neck. I was in constant pain until the pancreatitis cleared up. > > How long did you take off from work (non manual labor job)? > > I was originally scheduled off for 2 weeks and could have returned if it hadn't been for the pancreatitis, so I was out for 6 weeks. > > What difficulties did you have? > > I also became depressed, probably because of the extended hospital stay. I felt regretful of my decision to have the surgery. After being on anti-depressants for a month, I overcame the depression. > > Are you happy with your decision? > > Yes, extremely happy with my decision now. I love the weight loss I have experienced, the increased levels of energy, renewed enjoyment for love making, and renewed confidence. Guest guest
, Part of me wants to know more details on this with regards to the need for a condom and part doesn't. I think the part that doesn't is probably larger. EWWWWW.
