Guest guest
ITA. It was what messed up weight watchers for me really. I got obsessed with what I would weight down to the fraction of a pound. I didn't binge/purge, but did go to some unhealthy things to make sure that days weight was my lowest. And if I had lost weight we would go out and overeat a huge celebration meal after the program. I think once I am comfortable that not dieting won't make me gain weight, I will be able to stop weighing. Or at least stop for a week and then a month. Eventually I would like to be OK with how my clothes fit and how comfortable I feel. Bonnie > > Bonnie, > > I am concerned that you weigh daily. When I was weighing daily, it lead to me bingeing and purgeing. I wouldn't wish the lifestyle of a bulimic to anyone. I don't know if you can relate, but if I weighed in more, my whole day would be ruined...my mind would race and I would rush to GNC or Super Supplements to get the latest and greatest diet drug or I would order a new at home workout system. If I weighed the same, I would get discouraged and eat my feelings, thinking that I would never be able to drop that weight. And if I weighed less, I'd celebrate and give myself a " break. " Point being that all my efforts were in vain and they all lead to more weight gain. I have set Sunday as my only weigh-in date. It has help keep me accountable for weighing in. At my worst, I was weighing in 6X/day. Maybe you could put your scale away for awhile. Honestly, I had to hide mine for a few years. I'm just now feeling like I can use the scale as a tool, not a torture > device! > > - > PS--->2lbs is most definitely water;o) > > > > > ________________________________ > > To: IntuitiveEating_Support > Sent: Thu, April 29, 2010 5:48:39 AM > Subject: Scale fears ? > > Â > I have not broken my weighing almost daily obsession tbh and for the first time since starting IE I had a 2 pound gain show up this morning. My brain knows I ate Japanese lunch and popcorn snack and my rings are tight so it's probably water weight, but it is hitting my confidence in my knowing when and how much to eat. Did the rest of you have that problem initially? Did you hang in or try and figure out why the gain? >
Guest guest
My promise to myself has been if I get (back) below 190 which has been a total panic high for me, I will stop weighing. I do get that just thinking and writing that is not IE thinking and I have a ways to go. I actually brought my book to work today hoping for some time to read more.
