Hi, I'm Ellen. new to the group, and glad to know you're out there.  I've been trying to follow what I call mindful eating for some years.  The first time I learned it, through a workshop I took called " Free from the Fat Mentality, " I was able to practice it better than I am now.  I recently did another workshop called " Am I Hungry, " which is basically the same, but I'm still in a struggle.

It's great when you free yourself of all the no's.  (In the first group we bought 6 each of the 6 things we liked best or knew always where to find it, so you'd never feel deprived again.)  Ever since that time I've felt a lot freer to enjoy formerly restricted foods.  Still, all the messages on nf & ff and calories and portion " control " swirl around in head.

What I have difficulty with is eating with more attention: not snacking on all the things my teenage daughter likes (sweets) which I find hard to keep around without popping some into my mouth time and again (I work at home)...and focusing on waiting till I'm hungry enough so that I will really enjoy eating, then stopping when I'm satisfied.

I hope that knowing you all are out there will help me feel supported in my IE journey, and I hope to b support you, too.Thanks.Ellen
