Guest guest
Suzy, I too had to be on a 1200 calorie a day diet before surgery. Then about 3 weeks before surgery I was on 2 protein shakes and Lean Cuisine for dinner. I am taking optisource vitamins they are not that bad, when I saw the price of them I just about flipped. But I dont have to take b-12 so that makes up for it. I do have to take 500mg calcuim citrate and vitamin C. But a bottle of that will last 3-6 months so that is OK. Where are you having your surgery? Barb > > Today I had an appt with the nutritionist. My dr wanted me to start a > pre op low fat high protein diet. So I am on a 1200 calorie diet > until surgery. Guest guest
Hi Suzy, I know it's hard and frustrating to think that you have to go on this very restricted diet before you have WLS. Something to consider, following WLS you are going to be on a very restricted diet, while you will have a smaller pouch which gives you the feeling of no hunger and smack if you " cheat " the hardest part to overcome for most of us is the head hunger and being able to control that. I was adamant that I didn't have head hunger nor was I a stress eater before surgery, boy was I wrong!!! I had my surgery in June of 2004 and have to say, that was the hardest thing for me to learn. WLS isn't brain surgery, unfortunately. So the earlier you learn to control those temtations the much more successful you will be in the long run. I know you can do it! Please think of the doctor new orders as a positive change to help you instead of them just being mean to you. They are doing it for your best interest and a successful outcome. Take care, Terri > > Today I had an appt with the nutritionist. My dr wanted me to start a > pre op low fat high protein diet. So I am on a 1200 calorie diet > until surgery. Give me strength.
