Is a 3 year old to young to takeValtrex?

Hi

Im new to this site and would like to introduce myself,my name is Sophie and I

have a 3yr old son called Franco who has recently started using the bio medical

treatment. Franco has not yet had a diagnosed for his condition, but a lot of

carers that work with Franco believe it to be autism.

So this is all very new to us, we have only been seeing the bio dr for 3 weeks

and so far he has put Franco on a Gluten/Dairy/Wheat free diet, with 6

supplements.

Last Friday the Dr received Franco's blood test back and he told us that Franco

had a large showing of Herpes 1 in his system, 18 to be precise, and he said

Franco would benefit from taking Valtrex, my concern was that the packet only

showed a dosage for 12yrs of age and I worried that it could be harmful to

Franco, I wondered if there were any other parents that had children of the same

age on Valtrex, and wondered if they could tell me their experience of it, eg

side affect, what differences they saw in their child.
