Guest guest
For us, LDN (1 line at 4.5 mg) increased socialization, reduced anxiety, improved sleep ( except during a yeast flare or a food infraction in which case it had the opposite effect). He has been more" well " this year since taking, but there is no way for us to tell if one specific thing has improved his immunity since we have added a number of therapies. I do think it has helped. Our son is 10 years old, 60 lbs. Sent from my iPhone We're about a week in, working up very slowly. We started at .1 ML and are supposed to up it to .3 tonight, maxing out at .5 every night. My questions are: 1. What is the max most of your kids do? My son is almost 4, 47 lbs. 2. What are effects you've seen, both good and bad? We've had some sleep disturbances (like him being awake from 2.30 AM until 7.30 AM!), but generally he's been in a pretty happy mood and seems fine. 3. How did you know if 5 lines was too much? What physical signs did you see? My son is non-verbal so figuring out how he's feeling is a total guessing game. I'm meeting with his DAN tomorrow so I'd love some input from the group before I go in. Thanks! sara

Better social skills and language. > > 3. How did you know if 5 lines was too much? 5 lines sounds like way too much to me. Mine was compounded in one large tube and 1 line was 3 mg. You need to look at your dosage to line measure. My son was once ODed on LDN by a babysitter (gave something like 7 lines - whatever was in the tube - that's what happens when people don't listen!). I called my DAN freaking out and she said it was fine but he will probably have a behavioral reaction. He was a behavioral wreck for a month but it's not physically harmful - you just have to wait for it to leave the system. > What physical signs did you see? That's going to depend on your child. Since my son was verbal, I saw it in how he interacted with people. In your non-verbal child, you might see the same thing only with gestures or something that progresses. Guest guest
My 41 lb 6 yr old is on 3mg (equivalent of two lines; where one " line " equals 1.5 mg)This is the same dose as everyone in the house.Me and hubby being dosed this much for fatigue which may be CFS but we've never pursued a dx. My son was doing ok on 1.5 mg but since moving him to 3mg, he's doing really well.Sleep disturbance is the biggest issue. What I've gotten in return is happy children who play and interact together, children who SEE things and say " hey mom, look over there " (they are verbal but usually just " can I have some juice? " kinda crap) my ASD daughter who says things like " hey mom those leaves blowing around over there look like a bunch of birds " she looks me in the eye, I mean SUSTAINED eye contact... saw a log " for the first time " rotting in a field that we've driven by for 4.5 years... she has been " speaking " since she was 9 months, but not " conversating " (wish the ASD red flags would make a distinction there... repeating " hi " when you say " say hi " is not really communicating, ya know?) They are just way more with it and interested in life. My son won't shut up LOLIt is hard to explain. But for my husband, this is a man who thinks sat and sun, he needs to nap half the day away... so when he is on LDN, he doesn't nap... to me that's huge... other people are looking for more earth-moving things. Me... not sitting at the computer reading or looking at facebook all day... actually getting stuff crossed off my checklist.Chances are you will do good on 3 mg and more than that will be a waste... but everyone's different. We're about a week in, working up very slowly. Guest guest
Thanks Toni! So the " lines " are the doses then? I thought it meant it contained different things. Good to know what others are dosing at... so if we don't see much we can always try to increase. Now I'm thinking .5 sounds pretty low. > > > > > > > We're about a week in, working up very slowly.
